What it is about ALOX SAKs?

I have an unhealthy collection of SAKs and truth be told, I like the ALOX ones the best. Sure, they don't have the toothpick or tweezers but who cares? They feel like tanks. For some reason, they feel so much more solid then a cellidor SAK. It's a huge difference. ALOX SAKs are meant to last a lifetime. I have around 20 or so ALOX SAKs and my favorite is either the Blue Farmer or the Silver Pioneer Rancher. Why do you like ALOX SAKs?

i like alox too. i only have two alox SAKs the Solo and a black pioneer but i can't bring myself to carry them.

I like Alox SAKs because the handles are virtually indestructable and the implements are usually tougher. Blades are thicker and sturdier than their Cellidor counterparts. And the tools have an authoritative snap that instills a sense of confidence.

I like alox SAKs for the extra thickness of the tools, excellent awl, and durable and great looking alox scales. The size is also "just right" for me. That said, my favourite SAK is a cellidor Rambler, mainly because it compliments alox SAKs perfectly. It also pairs well with the new Dual Density 111mm SAKs (which lack T&T), and SwissTools.

About 75% of my SAK collection are alox, with a small portion living in a display case:

This is my "SwissBianco Sampler", and the picture was taken before I added the new +B Alox Ramblers. Speaking of SwissBianco, feel free to stop by and say "Hi" in the SwisBianco Forum!

I have quite a few of the smaller SAKS with both Alox and stainless steel handles. The older stainless handles are solid not caps. I like these knives because they are quite a bit slimmer than the plastic capped handles. The one I use the most is a money clip with a real file. The newer models have a "sandpaper" file.

I have two. The Farmer and Electrician plus. Your right, there great knives and they do feel more solid and beefier than the others. I never carry them though because well. I carry a multitool but I may start one day. I do love them.

I like all my SAK's but the Alox models I always seem to give away to friends and family. I DO like the tweezers and toothpick options alot, that is probably the reason. I never felt the Alox are any stronger than the cellidor models, though I now how you feel about how much you enjoy your favorite SAK!!!!;)

When I was a young man, I carried an alox Pioneer everyday. In fact, same one in the photo. It was very useful and familiar, so it just feels right to have and use one.

I love alox SAK's. For me, their size is just right and their design is simple, but very functional.

Big Alox fan here . Clean simple and tuff , not to mention elegant . I solve the toothpick ( which I never use ) and tweezers problem by carrying a Rambler and a spare set in the coin pocket of my wallet .

The Soldier , Pioneer , and Farmer are among the world's best EDC's .

yup, the alox handle feels so solid and tough... thats why i also love them dearly...

got 9 farmers (4red and 5 silver), 6 soldier, 3 classic alox SD (blue, green and orange)... not to mention all the cellidors collections...

the funny thing is i recently only EDC 84mm sportsman with nylon hand;e (you know the dull looking funny red like the OHT) and i actually love it!

yup... i'm a sick SAKs addict...

I carry a soldier. I really like it, but my dream pocket knife would be a soldier with scissors instead of the awl, and slots for toothpick and tweezers. If they could make that SAK, I think I would need a new hobby.

just add a small and lightweight victorinox classic... you could attach them o your key ring... would be perfect to complement your soldier since the classic got eveything you wish you got on the soldier (scissor, tweezer, toothpick and another small blade for back up)

That's exactly what I'm thinking, except I'm leaning towards the rambler, simply because the split ring is on the opposite end, and I think the small phillips would compliment the pseudo-phillips application of soldier's can opener. Especially with all the tiny phillips screws used in electronics these days.

Bing! The Rambler rocks. (As does the alox Soldier)

My silver alox farmer is a beast. love alox too, but i wish they could fit the toothpick in there with the tweezers, I'm sure they can sum how.
