What JK Knife Do you Really Want?

You talked me into it!
im emailing John now with something I want made.

You won't regret your decision. John has made seven of my patterns come to life and every one was just as I imagined it should be.

Mine is simple enough.
An Element Hunter with a Sheepfoot style blade.

Sort of a bigger dressed up WoodKarver

I sent John a pm regarding what I would like made. Sorry for the lack of recognition, my memory isn't the greatest, but Someone said we all should have John make us our own custom piece.
That caused me to do some thinking and I finalized a design that has been in the back of my mind for a Long time... It is a bit different, so much so that John wants to mock something up to see how it will work...

That's enough of a teaser for now. If John sends me a photo, I may ask him to post it on here too, depending on how likely it will be to create.

No idea.
I know I want some nice wooden handles, but am completely ignorant to what works best.
What do you guys favor?

Now it`s my turn. Just like the shoemaker who can`t afford to make himself a pair of shoes, this is the knife I can`t afford for myself.

I like that Bowie too. Years ago I sold a Field Knife by John. Flat grind and oak handles. Damn I miss that knife.

Funny story about that Field Knife. When Reuben was writing the article for S.W.A.T. magazine he asked if I could make a larger knife for the article. The result was the Field Knife with black handles. After the article was published he sent the knife back to me. I replaced the handles with oak when you ordered one and shipped it to you. You owned a piece of early JK Handmade Knives history.

Yeah. Ugh. If I ever spot that knife in the exchange, I'm getting it back! The grind was razor sharp. I should've kept it.

My favorite JK - the XD XT Modern Bowie - though I have never handled it. I can't afford it either :(
There is always something else that needs buyin' It's a beauty and a beast

Love my Rule # 9 though - no matter that it is little compared to the Bowie. It's a rugged little beast in in its own right.

I like John's ironwood, that is my favorite by far. However I have a black linen micarta handled knife From John that is great as well

I'll have to admit this knife is one I've been looking at also ... its a beautiful piece. The other that has had me looking alot since John annouced it would be back for awhile is the ViKtim ... and his latest looks amazing ... hoping I can make a choice and get home long enough to get one or the other.
