I like that Bowie too. Years ago I sold a Field Knife by John. Flat grind and oak handles. Damn I miss that knife.
Funny story about that Field Knife. When Reuben was writing the article for S.W.A.T. magazine he asked if I could make a larger knife for the article. The result was the Field Knife with black handles. After the article was published he sent the knife back to me. I replaced the handles with oak when you ordered one and shipped it to you. You owned a piece of early JK Handmade Knives history.
No idea.
I know I want some nice wooden handles, but am completely ignorant to what works best.
What do you guys favor?
