Or line dry, that's my favorite. Depending on the weather. N.M. Is a better state than most for this. But I do use just a rather cheap dehydrator from cabelas. My dad has like 3. I do want to buy an industrial unit from cabelas though.

Since my wife and I moved back to the area which I grew up as a child the outdoors is where my free time goes now. Hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, forging for wild edibles ( plants, mushrooms and berries ) exploring and generally adventuring. It's been great to see the same places or find new ones with her beside me to experience it together.
Oh.... Our dog just loved it out here. Spent the last of his days being a "bush dog" in a little dogs body. That always brought a smile to us. :D

Just beautiful Dan. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to spending more time in our backyard once the little ones get older.

Sorry to hear about your dog.

Beautiful, I do envy you guys that live up north in the colder country!

LOL! The look on the dirty dogs face is Priceless!
Yep! I got ALL Dirty! What are you goin to do about it!
:D

We live by the Ocean and though I don't get in nearly as often as i like these days, Just the smell of the Salt Air keeps me going!

Knife making & all of the nice people that I meet from it keeps me purring along!

Someone didn't listen yesterday when I handed his sharp knives back to him at my Sunday farmer's market!

Poor guy opened himself up decently and bled all over the dish towel he brought them in and I had to Yell! Use Pressure! Pressure! That will stop the bleeding!

The Funny was for the rest of the day when I was returning knives I would point down at the blood drops and say!

The other guy didn't listen!:D

I'll be headed up more towards you. Need to find a little plot of land, something for summers and weekends. 😀

Edit: We might be looking more seriously towards Eastern WA as well!

30 year old male. 2 kids at home 7 year old boy and a 7 week old girl. I fish or hunt about 4-6 times a week, as of lately I have been using this privilege to pay bills. For almost a decade now I have been trying to get to the point where I can guide people and make a living in the outdoors. It's just now that it's all coming together(sort of).

My boy accompanies me a lot on the weekends, and I truely hope the time we spend together reflects through the rest of his life as it did for me with my father and grandfather. Northern Ontario is areally great place for kids to grow up and adventure.

As it currently stands I am wrapping up my bachelors in biology and working on trying to get into some postgraduate programs. I want to be a geneticist. Currently I am working on getting into a few summer programs focusing on the sequencing of the various genetic markers and nucleotide series which code for blood clotting agents in humans! I have high hopes for that.

Hobbies are a bit hard to do because of both work and college, however I like to pick locks and bushcraft. I got to class 6 days a week and work 4-5 days out of the week as well. So it really has cut into my time for outdoor activities as a whole. But I used to fish a lot, and intend to once uni lets out for the summer. If I am not doing any of that I am probably either playing a game to unwind or spending time with my family. I've been collecting and using knives since I got my first SAK when I turned 5.

I just turned 21 in January, and life is busy but I am doing well for myself.

Well I am 50 yrs old, father to a beautiful 29 yr old daughter and have been lucky enough to spend the last 15 years with my soulmate.
We did a lot of camping and fishing when I was a kid but not so much in recent years, now we're lucky if we get out twice a year.
I've done many jobs throughout my life, from picking tobacco as a teenager to working on the docks in Surrey BC as a longshoreman in my early 20's for a short stint, unloading railway cars full of 100lb sacks of peas and lentils and such. I framed houses for a couple years and was a machinist/toolmaker for 18 yrs as well, and for the last 8 yrs or so I've had my own business installing hardwood floors. This year I have made another career change, as the old body is wearing out and I have started working with my wife and business partner at our tire/repair shop during our busy seasons, which is about 3 mths in the fall and 2 mths in the spring. When I'm not working at our shop I have been keeping myself busy fixing up some things around our house and my mothers.
I try to keep life simple and find most of my enjoyment now comes from family dinner on Sunday and spending as much time as I can outdoors with my dogs. I just recently purchased a fat bike and am having a great time keeping the dogs and myself in shape.
Here is a shot from this mornings ride.
