I found this in my grandfathers garage, and i may be able to acquire it.
I took a long look at it and cant find any other marking on it besides the one of the side. Don't even know how heavy it is.

Yes, it is a Trenton. If you remove some of the paint a weight should appear on the body. They are American made and have the weight stamped on in 100, 125 etc. lbs. not the English hundred weight system. The Trentons are usually larger for their weight than many other anivls due to the small waste and lighter base. They are usually very good anvils. I can provide more info when I can get to my reference books.

Am I going to have any trouble with that little chip on the edge? Should I just leave it alone?

It is not uncommon to find chips like that in an anvil. It should not affect the anvils performance.

Hey, Peldor, I'll be flying into N.O. on the 15th to visit my Granny in Gretna and my wife's family across the Mississippi line. Anything I need to know before I plan my route?

Careful on the twin span, the southbound is really bad off, northbound not so bad. Most of the construction in Slidell should be wrapping up by the time you make it over (thank god). Roads everywhere are dreadful, if you rent a car be sure to get the fix-a-flat insurance!!
don't know if you have been to Gretna since the storm but it doesn't look anything like pre Katrina anymore, but its coming back.
Be careful at all the lights, most of them are not working and they have 4 way stops everywhere (why do people ignore them :grumpy: ) just "look, look, and look again!"

Thanks for the update. This will be my first time back since Katrina hit. My wife went back to help her sister do some salvage work before the house was bulldozed. She brought back some video that'll put a lump in your throat. I've gotta be honest, I'm not looking forward to this. They say you can't go home again, but they never say anything about not being able to FIND home again!
