What kind of blade + tool configuration would you like to see from GEC?

Now and then, someone posts a pic of the 2011 forum knife, which looks to be an EZ Open Jack with a screwdriver/bottle opener added as a second blade. Whenever I see this, I think: "What a great idea. Why don't they produce it regularly?"

Would it not sell, because GEC thinks their customers are only interested in knife blades?

The recent thread about their new Lumberjack configuration has me thinking that they're seeing the light.

I think I'd like to see their stockman with a large clip point blade in one slot, and a scissors and bottle-opener screwdriver in the other slot. Or maybe an inline phillips and bottle-opener/screwdriver in the other slot...

I would settle for them mass producing the 2011 forum knife though.

What kind of GEC configuration with tools would YOU like to see?

I definitely would like to see more bottleopeners and awls/punches. I'd get more use out of them than a pen blade.

A simple flathead screwdriver or an awl/reamer would be my picks, depending on how well they could be integrated into a pattern. I think a lot of folks would love to see a scout knife from GEC.

I want to see some drop point blades.

Also, the bottle-opener screwdriver thingy would be OK, too.

Would love to see a fish scaler/hook disgorger/bottle opener like some of the various fish knives have.
They could put it on a toothpick or muskrat frame and have an instant classic.

If GEC made a Scout I would buy it in a minute, as long as it didn't have pink abalone scales ;)

Well, yeah I would anyway, and give to my wife to accompany her purple Ladybug and purple World Scout Wenger.

Seriously, if GEC is listening, I'd probably buy 4, one for me, each of my boys and my wife.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of tools on these knives, but a Scout could be pretty nice.
Aside from that, I will stay with the HJ and be happy ;)

The 2011 forum knife pattern would make a good addition to their line. Real men need a bottle opener now and then!;)

Those knives would be great Corey -- even with the Toothpick shaped pattern. The only thing lacking in your pictured knives is the tiny hole in the endcaps. A really good fish scaler knife needs that tiny hole -- they (the holes) were used to straighten fish hooks and adjust their tips to vary hook setting in different species and different fishing conditions.

Hi guys! A bottle opener would really be nice... The size should not be longer than 3,5 inches. Something like that, I would be immediately.

Kind regards
Andi

I'd like to see a cigar model (#53/#54 and #68) that has a clip or spear main blade, sheepsfoot blade, cap lifter, and awl. I'm not convinced I need a can opener as of yet. For the #54 Cattle Rancher, it would just be a matter of swapping out the spey blade.

I think a fish knife like Corey suggested would be great as well. Either on the #48 frame like a Schrade 292 or on the toothpick frame (yella has to be an option!!!!). With the Lumber Jack and saw blade, perhaps its not too far off a possibility?

After thought after writing the fish knife... depending how well the saw blade works on the lumber jack, perhaps one can be made on the cigar models a la Victorinox Farmer?

Edit: on the fish knife, would a bail or lanyard hole be out of the question? I'd hate to drop and lose it in the water.

With all due respect to folks who love awls and tradition, I would love to see GEC do a scout with the awl replaced with a pair of scissors.

I know more than a few buddies of mine that would love to see a GEC Electrician's Knife.

I'd Ike to see something with an ice cream scoop. But I really like Jake's idea for the Barnett multi tool.

Why scissors? I can see wanting to replace the awl with a phillips head screwdriver or maybe a corkscrew, but scissors seem like an odd choice.
