What kind of filters for use with abalone/mother of pearl

I have some abalone shells im thinking about cutting up, but would like to do so safely. What kind of filter should i be using in my respirator?

A P100 particle filter should be just fine. That's what the guys at our industrial safety place told me. As long as you aren't burning the material, you aren't going to get chemical fumes of any sort.

MOP just needs a particulate filter.
I have read different accounts about the effects of breathing abalone, but the use of a particulate filter and good dust cleanup is a must with it. Many Claim that abalone makes them nauseous or give a severe headache.
P100 is fine.Forget the paint masks, you want a cartridge filter.
