What kind of guy is Andy?

Andy recently visited The Virgin Islands.
Now they just call them The Islands.

Oh my God, laughing out loud at that one.

Like the old saying goes, You can tell alot about a person by how they treat people when there's nothing for them to gain from it

I'm sure Andy has had his share of "learning experiences" along the way, but its obviously they've made him a better person for it. He's a good human in my book.

I met Andy today and I can confirm that he and the guys at the shop are A+

Whitty is right up there too! Recently bought a knife from him and he does pretty good in the customer service department as well. Ill be a customer of both for good.

I'd like to share my first interaction with Mr. Roy if people are willing to read.

I ended up sending my very first fiddleback knife back to Andy & crew for a check up as I noticed a small crack/check line in the handle. Being new to knives of this caliber and wooden handled knives, I did not realize that it's a natural process of the particular wood to have small lines in it. I noticed these lines shortly after x-mas when I had the knife under some bright lighting. We spoke at length about different types of wood, how they react to climate, and so on. In all of our conversation I never said "I want a refund" but it's as if Mr. Roy could sense my uncertainty about the issue. Not only did he give me time to decide on what to do, he ended up insisting on replacing the knife (even though nothing was wrong with it). Just that little bit of doubt on my end, and his commitment to absolutely making sure a person is happy with the product is very seldom seen now days. I was given three different options, all of which were above and beyond. He ended up providing me with a whole new knife.

Ever since those first email correspondence, I try to stay in touch (although I know they are busy) and will continue to support until they decide it's time to quit. I'm far from being a craftsman or good with tools, but talking with these guys, fellow forum members, and seeing all the hard work they put in inspired me to go out to the shed and get busy tinkering. As some members have said, you guys at fiddleback not only provide excellent knives, you help some of us improve our quality of life. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!
