Neat thread , interesting tastes.

Me.. older punk like Dead Boys , SHAM 69.. Metal like Amon Amarth , Cellador...Old Country like Haggard or Williams.. PsyTrance- various DJ's... Much of the music I can live without.
Grew up in the 70's/early 80's and can live the rest of my life without ever hearing certain artists and songs again ! :D

I like mostly hard rock and metal, but there is some good southern rock/country. I listen mostly to Static-X, iron maiden, megadeth, metallica, AC/DC, and black sabbath/ozzy.

Just downloading a classic Moody Blues vid of "A Question Of Balance" as at present am feeling nostalgic.

I listen to a fairly broad spectrum:
a lot of classical
a lot of big band
a fair amount of Gaelic (I have a fondness for bagpipes)
some reggae
some country
some 50's, 60's, and 70's rock.

Right now it's really shitty cookie monster death metal being played by my neighbors... hate it.

Seems like it may have some novelty, but sounds like it's worn thin on you already. :D

"COOOOKIIIIIIEEEESSSSS!!!!" (blistering guitar solo)

Not as much as my neighbour's barking dog has on me ...poor thing has been distress barking since owners left it alone in the yard almost 6 hours ago.

Some folk just shouldn't be allowed to own dogs! :thumbdn:

They probably have no taste in music either.!

Well- the cookie monster music folks just came home- and thank God- I think the one w/ the hyper brindle pit is out of town...
It's 1 am now & it will be either bad rap or more crap metal... unless they're too drunk & just pass out.

I listen to may different types of music. I LOVE Classical, Classic Rock, Jazz, Country..... I like Evanescense, Rush, Doors, 3DoorsDown..... I recently had a Sirius satellite radio installed in my truck (it was an Anniversary present.), I have been listening to Spa Jazz. (Channel 73.) We don't have a Jazz station here on Cape Cod. I LOVE Jazz! & Classical music!!!

Older stuff I like:
AC\DC
Areosmith
Alice and Chains
Led Zeppelin
Johnny Cash
Metallica
Lots of others as well

Metal (Trivium, Lamb of God, All That Remains), Classical, Steve Vai, Micheal Angelo Batio, Dream Theater.

I like music that is fast and difficult to play - usually that means metal, classical, and solo guitar type stuff.

Don't listen to much music these days. Back when they made such a stink about downloading music I just stopped listening. Cable TV stopped showing music videos on the lower consumer levels. MTV and VH1 are just weird shows. Just got allergic to the commercials on radio. Guess I need an iPod and some new websites.

Classical leaning toward the baroque, esp. period or authentic music groups (Europa Galant, Concerto Italiano) - Vivaldi and Telemann are probably my top two composers

Bluegrass/roots/old timey music - Been loving Old Crow Medicine Show lately

Southern Rock (was blasting Red White & Blue by Skynryd on the 4th)

70's metal (Rainbow, Sabbath)

Prog Metal (Queensryche)

Industrial (KMFDM)

I'm a huge OCMS fan

I listen to a lot of jam bands, southern rock, etc:

Widespread Panic
Moe
Phish
allman brothers
skynyrd
dire straights
hank jr

Hardcore (particularly NYHC bands like Agnostic Front, Sick of it All, Warzone), metal (Maiden and 80's era thrash/speed bands), Oi/streetpunk and ska are my tops although I appreciate a lot of other types of music.

Back in the day, I used to listen to all types of rock, rhythm and blues, etc. AC DC being one of my favorite bands plus some new wave stuff as I was influenced when MTV actually played music when it started. Now, I mostly listen to Christian bands such as Skillet, Kutless, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp and Barlow Girl plus many others.

At the moment I've been listening to some Russian gypsy music, but I've also been known to listen to my fair share of Waits. I like jug bands too. Old folk/country/blues. The singing postman is my hero, and I like my fair share of traditional sea shanties. I like to goto the symphony. Jazz is nice. I find allot of newer music difficult to listen to yet I still sometimes rock out to some pretty "musically challenged" early punk groups (germs, screamers, subhumans, crass...). Muzak is a nono, much like rap, R&B, and Hip Hop, etc. Jerry Lee Lewis rocks my socks off.

Oh, and I named my dog Lord Buckley :)
