  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What kind of oil does Uncle Bill put on the khuks?

Just let em rust, and use nothin;) :D Though like Bruise on my long-term hangers I use auto-wax (good ol turtle wax for me), for project blades (stuff either in a process of restoration, cleaning, etc...) either WD-40 (if it needs cleaning) or baby oil (if it needs workin), and for users, well I use nothin. I like a well worn look on user blades, and if you etch them usually the patina is relatively stable and helps protect the blade. Well those are my .002 cents:rolleyes:

Its not abuse its just tough love ;) Really though, I only have two big knives that I really use alot (one being a K and the other a big scary bolo), and I made sure to etch em nice and grey. Though Ive never had problems with rust on knives I use alot, its the ones that get neglected, that like to cry rusty tears :p

Bruise, what brand of auto wax do you use?

Oops, I missed the question the first time around. I use Turtle Wax with carnuba. I think carnuba is edible because I saw it as an ingredient on a box of candy. Pure Tung oil is also non-toxic.

I figure if I get trapped in the garage, I'll have enough food and drink for a day or two. :)
