What kind of sheath is the safest for blades and not damage by being extruded?

What kind of sheath is the safest for the edge not be damaged by being extruded?

Leather? Kydex? Nylon? ETC?

(sorry for my poor English)
 
It all depends on what you mean by damage. Any sheath will leave marks over time. The point of contact that snugs the blade into the sheath will be a point of friction, friction causes wear.
