What kind of steel is a street sign?

If you spin the elmax sign during a full moon, it will spin and then fall facing north. This is known to be due to the alignment of harmonic carbides with the tidal forces of the earth. That is the best way to identify octagonal Elmax traffic signs.
 
I saw a street sign last week I'm sure the road commission has a hard time keeping from getting stolen, not for knife making.
In Detroit on 696, Big Beaver Road, exit 69!

Might be time for a road trip that sign would look great in my shop.
 
I imagine the sign for the Richard Bong State Recreation Area has been replaced a few times over the years. ;)
