What kind of watch do tactical operators wear?

While serving in Iraq, I wore a Seiko 007 200m automatic diver. I saw lots of G-shocks. Most exotic thing was a Rolex Explorer 1 on an E7.

Definitely a Luminox Black Ops Carbon. Matches their black camo face face paint, black clothes and black heart.

Back in my time we simply stuck our tactical knives in the mud and read their shadows. Saw backs worked best for that, of course.
During night time however we just caught us an enemy and did an enhanced asking for time if he didn't tell us right away.

Been in four years. Started out with a standard analogue watch (weren't allowed to have a watch with a compass through SFAS). Since then just a gshock.

G-Shock doesn't shatter in the steel cuff ports when detainees start resisting.

You kids nowadays. More tacticool than anything.
Can a Gshock resist emp blasts?
How long does the battery last? Long enough to snipe a drug lord while lying in the jungle for 5 years waiting for the right moment to take the shot?
Thought so.

That's what I'm saying... EMP proof.

Don't know if I'd fit that category but am usmc

Wear the Lum-Tec as a default (on a bracelet usually but have been trying out the rubber), Citizen for pt/manual labor jobs/etc., G Shock for doing real work

Out of curiosity, did the 007 still keep good time by the time you were done? Would be hard to get it regulated over there if it got wacked hard and got out of good timing, I'd suppose.

I was very satisfied with the timekeeping on the 007. It held up to infantry work.

Don't know about all that....all I really care about is when I get feces, urine, blood, and vomit on my watch daily at work, that it doesn't have too many nooks and crannies to harbor stuff, and is sanitized easily. No absorbable materials, fabric, leather, rust proof from chemicals, and can get banged around a lot. Aside from that it just has to tell time and have a second hand. I rotate two Gshocks daily and have never had to repair one or change a battery.

Luminox (USMC -Fallujah, Iraq) watch took a beating and held up. Still works fine almost 9 years later, of course i had to change batt a few times....

I did the same thing. To tell time at night, we lit a fire to read the shadow.

I don't know what Esav did. Knives weren't invented yet.

Im not a tactical operator (laughed when I seen that) But I am, a Vol. Fire Fighter, SAR & First Responder and I wear a Casio 5600-J. I also have a Suunto compass mounted on the watch band.( stole that idea after watching a Pedro Combat Rescue series on Netflix) The watch I love because its Atomic (aka Radio Controlled) & solar. I never have to second guess what the absolute correct time is when filling out Call reports / Training reports. I am not hard on equipment just to be hard on it like some people do, but this watch has taken a few licks and never skipped a beat.

The Suunto Compass is a Clipper model and I use it from time to time to get orientated while hunting in thick woods. But I have not used it on a Fire/Rescue scene.

To remove all doubt, this topic was created in jest ;)
