I see what every don't like, now what do you like ???

I'll start 3 1/2" to 4" blade,a good working guard, a handle that fits your hand.

I like big, thick (.25 and up) choppers. Those kinda knives are just amazing! I love them :). I dont like fixed blades with very thin stocks...angers me >:(

Hi Art,I've admired your work for awhile now.I checked it out on richardj's web site.Great to have you here.

I really like clip points & drop points, but I'm just crazy about wharcliffs!:D
I also like a well done 'persian style' blade.

I like a nonserrated blade or a fully serrated blade, but no combo edges.

My favorite handle material would be stag, ironwood or some swirly burl for natural materials & carbon fiber & micarta (paper & cloth) for manmade materials.

I'm partial to full flat & scandi grinds, but I'm warming up to convex grinds thanks to richardj.

My blade length preference for fixed blades is 3"-7" & 3"-4" for folders.

I have pretty large hands so I like the handles to be at least 4".

I prefer carbon & tool steels over stainless most of the time.

[edited] Forgot to add...I really like Ti slabs on a folder ala Sebenza;)

My preference leans me more toward 3" plain edge fixed blades -- either full flat or convex ground and with a deep choil right up against the edge. I love the beauty of burls, but will likely continue to stick to micarta.

I'd say the Bark River Pro-Scalpel II sums me up just about right.

Don't know the terminology, but if I could pick the perfect knife I'd want a folder, full flat grind, exact handle shape and size of the Spyderco Saver Salt, leaf or drop-point blade shape or modified sheepsfoot, 3-3.5 inches blade length, H1 steel or equivalent (rust proof...I'm addicted to this stuff!!!) :D , and handle material... I like the FRN or the G-10, haven't handled micarta so I don't know. As for liners, yes I like them but I'd want them, again, in the same steel as the blade.

Carbon steel, metal and/or natural materials for handle/fittings. Slim, traditional folders, big, exotic choppers. A nice patina or etch. Graceful lines.

For general use I like a 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 inch blade of a high quality carbon steel. Preferably forged 1095 or 5160 differentialy tempered. If possible I prefer a dropped edge and a stright or close to straight spine with an acute point and plenty of edge sweep.

Hnadle I prefer natural materials, stag, buffalo horn, Ironwood.

I like em sheathed in a very secure 3/4 pouch sheath set up for horizontal carry.

At the moment, I am fascinated by traditional patterns with a 2.5" to 3.5" blade of 0.95% Carbon low alloy steel.

Folder.

Phospher bronze washers and/or a blade bushing.

Approximately 4 inch blade - longer being a plus.

Carbon steel for the blade is a plus, as is 60Hrc plus hardness.

Blade shape shouldn't be too complicated - a simple, staight-forward design seems best.

Liner-locks and frame-locks are a negative.

One hand opening and closing without hand contortions is a big-plus.

Handle material isn't all that important and handle shape should be comfortable in multiple holds and ideally allow one to lock the knife in the hand.

Sharp and perfectly suited to its intended task. Did I mention sharp? Oh yeah, and good-looking.

Same here. I like daggers, hawkbills, choppers, neckers, anything really. It just has to do its job right. I can appreciate anything that does what it's intended to do very well.
