What kinfe (knives) do you have that NOBODY else has? Not just some one off custom...

That is... ah... that's something....

:D

Ha ha, that's not far off from my initial reaction.

I got it in a trade. At first I thought that there was no way I would carry that thing (which I haven't) but the more I looked at it the more it started to look like a blank canvas. I'm thinking it may eventually end up as a waved Persian. Something along those lines.

There's definitely enough material there to make it into whatever you want;)

I got it! It looks like an ugly older sibling of the Strider SJ75:D

Not sure how many were made but I haven't seen that many .

Rebladed Commander. Pretty sure it's M390. It is thicker than the standard blade so there aren't any washers in it. Still pretty smooth though. It's all sorts of fugly currently but I eventually plan to have it reshaped.

There aren't many folders with such a wide blade; I think you should spare the width, and perhaps either add some grind lines or make a modified tanto, wharncliffe, or something similar. Ie, a fuller or two, a swedge or harpoon point, raise the edge-grind, etc.

Benchmade Panther
AUS8
full flat grind
FRN handle

It's been a great hiking companion because of its light weight and full size.

Wow just Wow those are beautiful knifes I had to look at them 3 times! Thanks for posting them. Mark

Case 5299 1/2. I don't know if it's special in the traditional knife world. My late grandfather gave it to me as a hand-me-down a while back before passing.

BUT, after sitting untouched in a box for ~20 years, I pulled it out and saw that the smaller blade had my grandfather's fingerprint patina'd into the steel. I can wholeheartedly guarantee that this knife will never ever leave my collection.

A knife I've never seen around here is also my Benchmade 905SBT September 2000 Knife of the Month that I've beaten to death.

Awesome! May I ask how you became the lucky owner?

I was gifted it by it's owner who is on the ESEE forums. I begged and begged and begged and he gave in and sent it to me. As far as I know there are only four or five in existence, Jeff and Mike each have one and two or three more were given to prominent members of the ESEE community. Mine is the only one "in the wild" so-to-speak.

I call this knife the knife of mystery. Bought it from an old guy who said it was really old. It's def hand forged because its pommelish looking thing is uneven as are the fullers and bottle opener looking thing at the base. Very strong. The only identification on it is the MR

dk98 forgive my ignorance. "special Melt"? what does this mean?

From what I have heard, Bill Bagwell smelted some steel many years ago from a blend of different metals. Very very few of his knives where made from that "Special Melt" of steel.

INteresting to see...

I own the entire #1 in the series collection of Bladeforums SIFU knives (4 folders and one small fixed blade) all #1 of 50/25 or 75

I also own each and every tkcl folder, fixed blade and pen from the series that was generated in about the year 2000 as well as multiple "non-tkcl" knives. The tkcl series included Bailey Bradshaw, Larry Chew, Johnny Stout, Dale Reif and several more.... I think Don Cowles did one after I fell off the planet.

Other than that I think I have one of the largest collections of Ralph Turnbull but assuredly NOT the largest.

And of course about a zillion custom knives, but who counts their knives?

I bet you have something no one else has

I've got MOST of those TKC-L knives, but certainly not all of them. I stumbled upon this post.... made me miss that list.

I dont have anything rare and valuable but have a couple i dont see anywhere. One being the Ka-bar Dozier Thorn. It was my first "real "knife". I do not see any nor does anyone talk about them. They were made for multiple years so i know they are out there. My knife buddy is very jealous and wants one badly but they never come up for sale and are usually thrashed and still cost more than new. So i think i did well as a young lad.
