WHAT KNIFE ARE YOU CARRYING RIGHT KNOW?

Before I saw the light(wave), I carried a Butch Vallotton SOF. Now, I carry a blact T Waved CQC-7 to and from work, then switch it inside my secure building for a Boker 3040 Ceremic utility. The Boker is perfect inside dress pants. Outside work, I augment the folder with a 4" bladed Cold Steel Safekeeper II push knife, which has been converted into single edge, bead blasted, and carried in a kydex neck sheath. If you study martial arts, push knives are a natural for pure defense. I'm waiting on a C/P I&I Tanto w/ wave to replace the CQC-7.

I carry my franken-seven (plain edge, satin, waved CQC-7 blade mated to the SOCFK handle) if I remember to grab it on the way out the door.

I've had to amend mine slightly after breaking the thumb disc off of my CQC7 after 2 years of constant carry on and off duty, 2 x Gunsite Knife Courses, a Cold Steel Knife Course and the Emerson Knife Course. (Yes it has taken some abuse, but the blade is still razor sharp as I found out when the disc came off as I was opening it . . . .

Anyway, my carry is now :-

CQC6 front right waistband
SOCFK front right pocket
La Griffe around my neck
Leatherman Wave right hip

Did the screw holding the disk on the blade snap? Will you be able to get what's left out so you can thread in another one?

From the Emerson Gallery/Glossary:
Wave - The wave is a patented feature that allows the knife to be opened as it's drawn from the pocket. This is the fastest method of deploying a folder that I am aware of. It is located directly to the rear of the thumb disk and resembles a wave or hook. As the knife is drawn to the rear, the wave engages the edge of the pocket, opening the knife as it is drawn. GIF

Yep, the screw snapped off level with the top of the recess in the blade so there's no way I can get what's left of the screw out. For the cost of sending the knife back to Emerson from here in England and then paying for the repair, it works out the same as getting a new CQC7, which is what I'll do.

The 'old' one I now use for training use on my wooden dummy.

As if I'd ever do that !

I am sending off one of my CQC6's to Emerson to be reground back to the single bevel and have a general look over though. How will I cope lasting for a couple of weeks without it ?

Have to reply on the other CQC6, CQC7, CQC5, Neck Knife . . . . .

Jeez, I dunno, man. Think you'll be able to survive with JUST those?
