What knife are you most proficient with?

This Christmas my Griptilian will be 2 years old, and since it's been my EDC for those two years I've naturally become quite accustomed to it, so that I can draw it, axis flick (get over it :D), or regularly open it automatically without having to think about it. I can then close it and return it to my pocket without any thought as well. Obviously I've looked at other knives and wanted to buy them, but I'm not sure if I could ever become as proficient with other knives, because the balance, the opening hole, the axis lock, ergonomics, and blade shape seem to suit me perfectly, so wanting a new EDC just for the sake of having a new one hasn't been enough to coax me into buying a new single-bladed folder in that time.

What knife are you guys the most proficient with?

Really any of the Spyderco FRN lockbacks--although my favorite is the Rescue 93mm or the Atlantic Salt.

They're so light-weight that you almost forget that you have them...until you need them.
And then it's just out-of-the-pocket and in-to-the-hand, my thumb falls naturally on to the thumb-hole, and then there's that SNAP sound of the blade locking.
It's as if I had been using one all of my life.

Allen.

CRKT M-18. I use this one at work all the time and it's become second nature to flip, cut and close all one-handed and without looking.

My SOG X-ray vision because ive had it the longest and so its got the most pocket time. My FRN Delica is on ts way there though since ive been carrying it non-stop for about the past month.

...since I cook a great deal and use everything from an 8" chef's knife to Chinese cleaver and everything in between I guess these types of FB's are what I use the most even though I EDC a BM710,BMGriptilian or Spyderco.:)

Can flick it open left and right handed; able to seamlessly move from ice pick to sabre grip; able to close it quickly, produce it quickly; easy to sharpen, clean, and pocket (conceal); can pass the campfire peanut-butter spread test or use for eating a meal; total confidence in the liner lock and grip... plus it was a present from the friend who introduced me to the knife-knut world! :D

Superb thread! Keep 'em coming!

It used to be my Paramilitary; I would open it, use it, close it, and return it to my pocket without even looking.
BUT, I have found myself quite proficient with my Pacific Salt. I reach in my pocket and my finger naturally falls in the Boye dent of the lock, so I depress while pulling it out of my pocket, give it a gentle flick, and it's ready to go. The lockback also makes closing easier, I noticed on my Para Military that if the closing flick is to hard the blade closes then bounces open alittle, very annoying.
My final choice would be Pacific Salt, but my Para is still more fun to play with.

Spyderco Dodo.

Has been on me since I got it, and it's second nature to me now. Requires no thought at all to use.

My Benchmade 805...I can whip it out, open it up, dress-out a pigeon in flight, then close & put my 805 back in my pocket before the nekkid bird hits the ground.:D.

My Victoorinox soldier. Been carrying one for so many years I've forgotten when I started with SAK's. I've actually fixed things with them. Loose screws, water hoses, battery cables on my motorcycle, thwart screws on my canoe, not to mention as a knife.

I do everything (almost) with the 2 1/2 inch spear point.
