What knife brands have you changed your mind on?

Böker. I stayed away from them for a long time after reading about their poor quality control then I finally caved and bought an epicenter. DAMN I love that knife. Since then I picked up an albatros which I was also impressed by. I'm planning on a kwaiken too.

I can't jump on that spyderco train. I own two and they're okay but all the designs seem so similar to me. Buy one you've bought them all kind of thing. I'm much more interested in buying my favorite from every maker then deciding if I want to get a second

I never liked spyderco until a year or two ago. I still think they're ugly, and for the most part all look just alike, but I think spyderco is best bang for your buck (along with Kershaw.) for firearms fans, I see spyderco as being the glock of the knife world. I couldn't stand glocks either until I was forced to carry one. I still think glocks are ugly but I gained a lot more respect for them. anyway, I was looking to get my brother in law a knife a couple years ago for christmas, and having never owned a spyderco I figured I would get him one. I started really looking and you can spend a lot less for a knife comparable to a benchmade equivalent. I bought him an endura 4, and after fondling it for a while before wrapping it I decided it didn't seem too bad. at one point I offered to let him hold on to one of my knives if I could use his endura for some light use for a couple weeks. I was really impressed with it, and even got to where I didn't hate the thumb hole... though I still prefer a stud. I never really got as comfortable with the lock back as a liner or axis style lock, but I wouldn't hesitate to own a spyderco now. you can even get a zdp189 knife for a shade under $100 from spyderco, that's amazing to me along with the knives being well made.
