What knife combinations do you carry?

My minimal carry combo is a multitool and a slipjoint. Lately they have been my charge and an early 80s Case scout in CV. The Case belonged to my grandfather. If I'm not carying the Case, then its an Alox Vic with an awl or a stag Queen City cattleman with an awl. While not necessary, I find an awl to be too handy to not carry a knife with one.

My other multitool/slipjoint combo is a KF4 and a Vic Compact or Explorer for the scisors. The pliers and the diamond file are the tools I use the most on a multitool.

Beyond those combos, I normaly have a few others on me too. A vic Minichamp and a Squirt P4 normaly ride on my keychain. I've had the Minichamp for more than 20 years and the Squirt is just neat. Plus they make a good backup. I may forget the bigger knives, but if I leave the house, my keys are on me. I don't step out the door without them. Not since that time in college when I locked myself out of my room and had to spend a few hours sitting in the TV room in a towel. A Vic Executive is normaly about my person somewhere. Its another design I really like and its small enough to not be a bother. In my right hip pocket I normally have a Queen Mountain Man. I love the lines of the design and prefer the larger blade for food prep; cutting up apples, sausage and chesse.

Thought I would add the other knives I carry in my edc rotation since I've already named the slipjoints I carry. It is always one of the three slippies or Protech Runt 2 in my left front pocket and one of the following in my right front pockrt;

1- Jeff Hall large Bounty Hunter
2- ZT0200
3- BM 610 w/ivory micarta grips
4- BM 610BK w/silver twill grips
5- Strider AR
6- CRK large Classic Sebenza w/snakewood inserts

All of the above are set up with tip up carry so that it takes the same general motion to open them up regardless of which one I have that day.

As I said in my original post, the slipjoint I carry does about 90 to 95 percent of the work in an average day. I just like to carry something that no one else is going to pull out of their pocket!!

Recently:
CRK large Sebenza, R. cargo pocket.
Victorinox Soldier, down in r. cargo pocket.
Victorinox Executive, r. front pocket.
Case amber bone mini-trapper, L. cargo pocket.

The mini-trapper being the newest, I'm using it currently for the majority of my light-to-medium cutting chores. Because I'm in the process of bonding with it, I'm concentrating on using it as first choice for most cutting jobs, and it's doing very well indeed. The Soldier is also used a lot throughout the day, often for scraping, opening cans, etc. In fact, all 3 of the slipjoints see plenty of use each day. The Sebenza had been used for most cutting chores, but at the moment only for some of my slightly heavier cutting jobs. Nonetheless, it's always there.

Is it overkill to have more than one knife in your pocket? (can't wait for responses to that comment:D)

Merry Christmas to all!!
For many years I carried 2 knives edc. However, I have found that more than 1 knife really is overkill for me to carry. Surprised? Merry Christmas to you and everyone as well.

Generally I carry a Spyderco Police on my left front pocket
Katz Cheetah on the belt right
Fixed blade of my own design on belt left

As of late it's been only one knife in the right front pocket

Schrade trapper or Camillus stockman or Boker copperhead or a SAK soldier.

In my work bag I have a Boker Sodbust, a Leatherman Juice S2, a SAK climber and a Swisscard. A Inova X5 and Wegner swiss army pen. In any of my jackets I keep a Mag solitare.

My weekend bag (I have little kids but refuse to use a diaper bag) has a mini-Maglight and SAK Spartan in there.

If you only have one pocket then one or two knives will be plenty. If you have more pockets then of course you will be carrying more knives. I seldom carry more than two knives in the same pocket, but I often have one pocket without a knife. Today is a pretty typical day with a WM button lock in my right hip pocket, a prototype office knife in my left hip pocket, my Featherlite and ultimate pen knives in my right front pocket.

Sorry Gary, I lost control of my fingers. WH not WM William Henry, test bed for the button lock and ZDP steel. I have carried it for almost two years and am truly impressed, the button lock works so slick and yet is solid, a great improvment over a liner lock. And the ZDP does stand up and hold an edge better, I have used the knife for everything except digging in the garden.

Ah, ok, thought that might be the case, but never know when you may bring out
something new!

I'm very tempted by the new one they have, the Gentac model with desert iron wood
scales, love the blade shape and handle on that one, but haven't held one yet...

Thanks Mr Russell,
G2

Mr. Russell, how easy is it to put an edge back on that ZDP? Is it the same 189 that Spyderco uses?

Marttiini Skinner on my belt, Leatherman Blast horizontally alongside the Marttiini and a Boker Escape Knife clipped to my left pocket.

Let's try to keep with more current threads (of which there are several on this topic) as well as knives applicable to this sub-forum.
