over the years i have delt with many different companys and Bark River Knife and Tool is the best bar none.Any problem you have with their product be it your fault or theirs-- the problem is solved. If you don't have one of their knives you have to get one--beautiful style--beautiful workmanship--the best customer service you can find--what more can you ask for  :)

Sounds good...so often these days companies just stab you in the back...it's nice to find a one with cutting edge technology, sharp employees, and customer service to the hilt...

I'd have to say Benchmade. Their responses are timely, customer service is just wonderful. It's one of the few companies that actually make it seem like they value you as a customer, and their life sharp service is just great. (note) I have not deal with Spyderco customer service, but I am sure it is just as good as benchmade if not better. And just the fact that Sal frequents these forums with all of us crazy knife nuts, is a huge testament to Spyderco.

Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw and Ka-Bar have all impressed me in the past.

I've used the customer service from Buck and Victorinox (in NJ) and both have been outstanding. Essentially they both fixed my knife no charge.

Haven't had to use cust serv from other companies yet, but I like what I hear from other people. Seems to be pretty much industry wide, knife knuts are good peeps.

Leatherman isn't a knife company, but their multi tools are great and I had a great experience with customer service in fixing a problem.

Chris Reeve Knives is a great company to deal with, as is Spyderco. Chris and Anne Reeve and Sal Glesser stand behind their products and have the earned the highest reputations for quality and service in the industry.

for me:

positive:
Bark River
Spyderco

somewhat negative:
Benchmade
Microtech

extremely negative
(i.e. will buy another knife from them when Beelzebub snowboards to work):
Kabar

I would have to rank Chris Reeve Knives as first and Spyderco as a close second. Either way they're hands down the best in the industry (IMHO). ;)

Buck and Leatherman's customer service both treated me very well Two thumbs up ! I haven't any experiance with any other companies costumer service .

I have had great service from Benchmade, Buck, Case and Camillus. Everyone of these companies had very polite persons working for them, had great time and fixed the problem except one and that was Camillus There was a mix up and they sent my knife out for repair to someone else, who could not fix it, so it took some time to get everything right but their service person made everything right and was very helpful through the whole process :D. John

Doesn't it seem like reasonably high quality knife companies (not the ones making $5.99 total ripoffs in china) have a much better customer service reputation than other companies making completely unrelated products of similar price?

Spyderco have always been very helpful people, and had a quick turnaround.

I also have to mention Emerson as well. They took care of me in a timely manner.
