What knife did/does your grandfather carry?

One of mine is still alive he carries a schrade old timer large stockman. Im pretty sure he's had that knife since the early 80s. He used to always say to me if doesn't rust it ain't good steel. Also he carries an old Western Bowie when we go hunting.

My other grandad died in 97 I have his knife it's a Utica electricians knife I still use it. Through research it's from the 50s maye even earlier. I also have his old hunting knife that he had made for him by blacksmith. No telling how old it is. Maybe WW2 or before. He was a big time fox hunter in his day annnd a moonshiner lol.

Both of Grandfathers have been gone for well over 10 years now, but I remember they always carried Slip joints. My paternal grandfather owned a hardware store here in PA and he sold case knives as long as I could remember. Every year He wold get a dealers knife and his old knife he would give away to just about anyone who needed a good knife. I also have and still use 2 straight razors that he had acquired when he was in the Army Air Core in WWII as a B-17 pilot. They where made in the UK and have real nice MoP handles. On my mothers side I have a Old Black Smith made knife that my grandfather use for hunting. Ill find it some day and post some pics its made from wire rope that came from one of the bridges here in Pittsburgh cool damascus look to it from all the braids of the wire rope, and white tail antler on the handle.

Both of my grandfathers carried every day. My maternal GF seemed to favor smaller slipjoints, I have most of them and they are all in good condition despite signs of heavy use. My paternal GF was hard on knives; I have one example of his that is in good condition but most of the slippies have snapped blade tips. I'll try to get some pics up when I can.

He carried the smallest Buck 2 blade slipjoint.
