We have had lots of threads about knives folks like, but what about the knife you dislike or down right hate.

I don't have a knife that I hate, and really don't know if such a thing even exists, but I do have some I really don't use that sit in the bottom of the drawer, or lost in the bottom of the tool box.

Two come to mind. I once recieved a frost cutlery folder as give a way when I placed an order through AG Russle some years ago. Darn thing is so hard to open it breaks off my fingernails, and is heavy enough to use as a boat anchor. It just lays around and once in awhile is used to slice up carboard for recycling.

The other is a box cutter with a red plastic handle that uses the small blades. It works okay, but just doesn't ever really get used.

I have a Case classics XX big sleaveboard whittler with blades that are hard to open, and the coping blade's grind looks like they gave it to a beginner to grind.Wish I never bought the thing.

I have a Gerber Vapor (or Valor or something like that) that I HAD to have because of the design....I was so disappointed in the performance I stopped using it and now just hate it. It is a reminder to me to buy good stuff!

I hate my Zero Tolerance ZT0302. I hate it because I ordered it a couple of days ago and it is now currently in transit. I hate it because I keep checking the tracking site every couple of hours to see if it has made it to the next UPS processing facility. I'm going to continue hating that knife until it makes it to my door. ;)

i hate any knife i want and cant afford or find :D
i particularly hate the elephant toe or sunfish pattern, oh i want a good one real bad but they all are a little too rich for me right now :D
yeah i spend alot of time hating knives :D

Pretty much all of the knives I bought before I discovered bladeforums.com.

I can't hate any knife, even thge cheapest price of crap you would find at a flea market, because its still a knife...but yeah, I disslike them...its liek the saying guns don't kill people, people kill people...well I feel that evencheap knives don't deserve the bad credit...its the people buyign them using them, and complaining how much they suck...you paid $4? what did you expect, lol...So what I really hate is the lack of knowledge people have about knives...People I really dislike are the oens that automatically assume knives are weapons...and that knives are more dangerous than anything esle in our society...besides guns...I don't like hseeple who give you a wierd look for havign or using a knife...I dislike our US government reps for not rewriting knife laws because it won't get them more votes...making knives more legal will not help them get back into office for another term, so whats the point...thats what I hate...I ahte politivally correct people...who even has the right to say whats right or wrong, or politically correct? and what gives them that right?

lol, sorry, went off on a rant...Just gets me mad...ignorrance and selfishness...us, and by us I mean people are by far the most messed up creatures on the planet, lol...

I appologize for gettign WAY OFF TOPIC....and for any of my usual typos...my fingers are faster than my brain...

back to the question at hand...

I think I dislike knives without pocket clips...not because anythgin is wrogn with them at all, but just for the reson that I like using one...and I can't get used to a sheath yet...lol

I HATE S.A.K.'s. I know, I know, let the flaming begin. I could never get one to take or hold an edge, they don't lock, the blade is too small, they look ugly IMO and the tools never work. I lost the only one I ever had, and I don't miss it. The only worthwhile thing on it was the can opener...for cleaning under my fingernails.

American based knife companies whose products are manufactured "overseas" -- CHINA!!
Basically any knife with an american name made overseas.
yep that's what i hate. ahgar

My Kershaw rainbow leek. I carried it for like 2 weeks and I lost the damn thing.

I carry a $40 knife and I loose it, I carry a $12 knife and it can't be lost. Go figure

Really? Well seeing them as ugly I can see, that is just personal taste, but the knives...smnall , yes, but they are sharp, and hold an edge well, just a matter of simple maintnance...and the tools work just fine as long as you use them correctly...

Unfortunatly you will be hard pressed to find many all american companies these days for any product really...Off the top of my head I know that Zippo and Case knives are ALL american...and a few other knife companies these days like Bark River Knife and Tool...but for the most part you will find this happening all over...its just too expensive to compete with any other companies to have all american products these days...I know this is a big issue now for the knife industry, but its just buisness...these guys don't make knives for charity, otherwise we all would ahve much nicer collections, lol...:D

I hear ya, cutlerylover. In my case, it is not really the company I have a problem with, as I know the economic reality out there. Rather, it is the individual knives from China I often detest. Some China knives are fine from a quality standpoint, but I would rather support jobs in N.America rather than Asia. Just a personal quirk. ;)

when i was kid in the early 80's it was all about the Rambo knives .. i have like 5 or 6 left i used to buy at our old local flea markets ..boy i miss those ..from my original collection i cant even pass the rest off as gifts so i use them for around the camp trying to break em lol ...
