What knife do YOU want for fathers day?

So with fathers day just a bit further than 2 weeks out, I've got my mind searching for ideas on what to get my soon to be father-in-law for fathers day.

Ive been searching for a cool and different knife to get him, probably some type of traditional. I'd much rather get him something that he will get some good use out of rather than something to keep in a drawer only to be looked at every once in a while, so lets keep super extravagant knives out of the picture.

So, this leads me to this thread, what would you recommend for me to check out for him? Id like to keep it under $65 or so.

There are a lot of very classy slip joint knives the come in at about that price. Case Peanut gets my vote.

If your asking for what I want I want a BK9.

What is your Father in Law into? Does he camp or hunt? Does he fish?

I ordered a Case mini trapper in chestnut bone and CV (carbon steel) for my dad. You can find them for under $40.

Some type of a Swiss Army Knife. Even non-knife people appreciate a SAK. There are a bunch to choose from in that price range.

I'd like a BK5 and/or BK15.
For your situation, I'd look at the Case SwayBack Jack. I have one in CV and it's, by far, my favorite traditional.
I would've fainted if my kids picked it out for me. Since they didn't, I picked it out for myself... last year.
Still plenty small for carry, but a little bigger than a peanut, makes it much more useful in my book.

A little bigger and tool-ier, I really dig the SAK Alox Farmer.

Id like a custom chopper made by Nick Wheeler for fathers day, sadly, its not in our budget.

you cant go wrong with a Swiss army knife or a nice slip joint as a gift

For your FIL, definately either a Spyderco Endura FFG in the color he likes best, Victorinox Trekker, or Buck Vantage Avid.

He likes to do a lot of hunting, mostly squirrel and deer
For a fixed blade, Becker BK16 should impress the heck out of him.

Spyderco, most likely. PM2, LeafStorm, Gayle Bradley, or Bradley Air. Caly 3 with ZDP-189.
However...

I'm hoping for a new Leatherman since I gave my old trusty Gerber multitool to a friend who had his stolen awhile back.

I would like a green paramilitary 2 but that isn't very likely. I would settle for a cruwear military but now those seem to be significantly delayed. Third on my list is a new Manix2 XL but that one isn't scheduled for several months more meaning it might arrive about this time next year.

I might have to start buying knives from a different company.
