What knife for $400

Don't compromise. Get what you want, and let the guys here steer you towards something worthwhile. Do you want a tough, hard use knife? Or one that has a fancier finish? Do you sharpen well, or know someone who does? What type of knives do you gravitate towards? Any preferred locking mechanisms? Size, blade shape, handle materials, steel, let your preferences reinforce your decision. If all your boxes are checked and the knife that does it costs $400, no reason why you shouldn't go for it. It seems like you already have some decent knives, unless you want more of the same, aim for as high as you can.
