What knife For Car Emergency Bag?

Chris, I like your story and the closing line from Roy. DM

Thanks. I accidentally left that knife behind at a camp site in Elkins, WV. I got home and it wasn't in my gear. I assume I set it somewhere where the weathered brown handle and sheath just blended in and I overlooked it when packing up.

It had been on an adventure from day one. I hope someone found it and its still on its journey. Maybe we'll see a post here years from now from someone who's grandfather found it in WV 40 years before:D.

My thug sits in its sheath inside my pick ups tool box. It's been there since August and held up well. Not sure I would leave it in the glove box though.

Several years ago I asked Steve Kootz of the now defunct the Knives Live TV show(SMKW) this question by email and he stated on air It was not a good idea to leave in a vehicle but the proof is with the posters who have with no bad effects.

I have one of the Buck Packlite one piece knives. I do not like them but it was on clearance for $12 so I bought it and threw it in my behind-the-seat first-aid kit. I almost always have two other Buck knives in my pockets. I do not think I have ever used it but it is there and sharp. Besides first aid stuff my first aid kit contains bug repellent, sun screen, a few coils of paracord and a few miscellaneous tools.

I have three in my bag a SAK, a carbon fixed blade which will eventually be replaced by a 119 and this one which is like my SAK there in case I forget to pocket either type of these before I leave home. These have been there when I needed them more then once!

I keep my CSAR-T and a pill bottle full of different 1/4" hex bits in my console. There should be a 110 in there too along with a GPS (not the one that keeps tell me she's recalculating), and in a milk crate in the back seat is a fold up shovel, small ratchet set, small jumper for starting the truck and charging my junk, a compressor, and I think my BOB is back there too. The crate comes and goes depending on where I'm going and the season. AAA is probably my most important tool...lol
