What knife gets the most pocket time?

Paradoxically, the knife blade I carry the most is the one I use the least. The blade on my multitool. I use just about every tool it has, but I don't know if I've ever cut anything with the knife blade on it.

Same here. Knives get rotated once in a while, even the almost daily carried ones, but the multitool is there every day. And it never cuts anything except with the saw.

But *almost* every day I carry my Resilience and Tenacious.

Of course, I also wear one fixed blade each of my own making in LC200N and MagnaCut, but they don't actually go in the pocket, except the rare occasion I take them off in the field/at work.

My wife gave me a CRKT Swindle which looks a lot like an ink pen when clipped in my shirt pocket next to my phone. It's nice to have easy access to it while in the car to open snacks and packages. The acute point came in handy to drill a small hole in my grandson's fingernail to relieve the pressure when he smashed it in the door.

The first time I can remember that I scraped my knee, Dad took me up to the bathroom, got out the first aid kit, and as soon as he grabbed the scissors I started freaking out and trying to get away because I didn't know what he was going to do with them. He only used them to cut the gauze, haha, but I was too young to really understand that until after the fact. How old is the young lad, and how did he feel about grandpa saying "Congratulations you just smashed your finger, now let's cut a hole in it with a knife!"

May I add, I am not mocking the situation, I realize this is useful and have done similar to myself (though always through skin).

This thing is in my pocket every day. It's a sticky-stabby sort of a deal, in addition to being scary sharp. I must be getting old if I think I'm going to use it. But it has a glass breaker on the end in case I need to break someone's glasses.

If I think I will have to cut something, I carry a Buck 501. But recently I bought some Spydercos like the ones above, so I'll be giving those some pocket time.

When I was a kid, my dad had to put some stitches in my head. Bathroom surgery, just like yours. I kept saying, "Tell me when you're gonna do it!" He never told me, he just did it, and the whole thing was over before I knew it. And that wasn't the only time he ignored what I told him.

With all that ruckus in the Spyderco forum, I'd thought you would at least have ONE spyderco...

I'm tellin Sal!

For me historically, a 4 blade Scout/Camp/Demo/Engineer's knife, or a 2 or 3 layer SAK. (Recruit or Huntsman, respectivly)
There's been one of the former in my pocket every day since 1961 or 1962. (age 6 or 7) I believe I was in my mid or late teens, when I got my first SAK. I think I was in High School, anyway.
Round about 1963 or 1964, I added a large Stockman or a Barlow, depending on what I felt like. Then around 1967/1968 a Buck 110 went on my belt to complemet the two in my pocket.
My "normal" (for me) carry has been the same pretty much every day since.
I've tried other patterns; Canoe, Sunfish, Moose, single blade Jack Knives, but seem to always go back to the stockman. Tried the 2 blade slipjoint Folding Hunter, which I do like, but always returned to the Buck 110 or Old Timer 7OT and accasionally the mid 1990's ~ Pre 2004 bankruptcy Old Timer 6OT I've had since new.

When I was working on/stationed on my then boss' boat, I had a Marlin Spike on me the days I knew I would be working on the lines/ hallyards/sheets, tow lines for the dingie, making anti-overboard safety lines, or some other task that required splicing rope.. It came in handy on the days I was working on the electrical systems, as well.

This month I've had a large Stockman and a Harness Jack in my pocket, an Engineer's Knife (4th blade is a pen blade, not a punch/awl) clpped to my Nite-Ize chain ring , which is in turn clipped to a belt loop, and a Buck 110 on my belt (all with a carbon steel blades) ... Oh, and a SAK Signature on my key ring for the scissors and blue ink pen, for when black ink won't do. I keep forgetting about that one.

I honestly don't see this combination changing any time soon. :)
