What Knife is for me?

I'm the same boat, trying to make up my mind. I've been pretty deeply into traditionals for awhile now but having found the right traditional knife for me, I'm not interested in buying any more. I thought I was done buying until I took a second look at the small 21 and it has everything I like in a modern folder, simple, functional and rugged. No flippers, obnoxious branding (looking at you ZT), or other bullshit. So alright I'll just get one more really good modern folder and then I can just settle down for awhile. I started saving up and while I wait, I figure let's see if they make any other good folders. Now I want them all. Shit.

Haha. That's how it works, Dr. We all go looking for a great knife that will last a lifetime, and we end up with 5, 10, or 50. It's a wonderful disease.

After owning a couple plain handle'd CRKs, I can never go back now that I own the Micarta and Wilson knives. Extra grip and looks a ton better.

A little inspiration!

Congratulations on the Umnumzaan, they are great work knives. Personally, I like the fact that I can adjust the pivot tightness to my liking. I also like the top swedge for scraping stuff and saving the edge for cutting. Here's mine.

Trying to decide between a Mnandi or Ti-lock.. Yeah they're totally different and I admire them both for different reasons. The Ti-lock is a sexy space knife with great ratios and has called to me since I saw it. The Mnandi would be nice because I live in a suit and a small fine knife with a beautiful clip is practical for me. So do I go for sexy or smart?

Figured I'd post this here, instead making a new thread.

I would go with the TI-lock but just get both then you are win win:)
The new Sebi Tanto is what I want!!

Definitely a Ti-Lock. It's great for the office but is also robust enough to be used for EDC. It's the best of both worlds, whereas the Mnandi isn't exactly a great EDC knife, IMO.

I agree getting both would be a win, except the part where my wife files for a divorce. :(

Just saw those, I usually don't go for tantos but on a sebbie they look alright!

Hmm, two for Ti is pretty convincing but I gotta ask what makes the Mnandi a less than great edc?

It's just not a very usable blade outside of gentlemanly, office-type tasks. The blade and the handle are both very small, which makes it difficult to get any sort of leverage; especially if you have large hands. The blade shape doesnt really lend itself well to many EDC tasks, IMO. You wouldn't want to cut rope with a Mnandi.

The Ti-Lock's not much bigger in the pocket, but it has a much larger, more usable blade. It fills the hand much better, and is just a better EDC knife.

This is just my two cents. Take it for what it's worth. :)

I got the Umnumzaan and wow!! I can't set this knife down. I was never into Reeve knifes at first thought they were so plain and boring. I could not have been more wrong. This knife is so well made and in hand feels amazing. It is everything I want in a knife. Meat and potatoes:) I got a Seb on the way now and am all ready looking for my next purchase after that
