my usual; wallet, cheapo knife, keychain, dremel bit, marker, phone, burts bees. maybe some extra change to catch the bus or some tire levers and a larabar now and then.

How come when there is a edc or what are you carrying thread most of the knives look pristine? Doesn't anyone actually use their knives?

Pristine? Here's what three years of every day carry and use does.

Still am unsure why people carry large markers around, graffiti or just large notes? In any case, what is the dremel bit for? lol

I would like to see a homemade omega spring!
Did you break the old one?

Yup. Knife wasn't opening as smoothly as it should so I opened it up to clean it out and found this.

After several emails to Benchmade and no responses I decided to try and fix it myself. I used the last inch or so of the core of a steel wrapped low E guitar string.

It's not pretty, but it works like a charm. Opens as smooth as ever and locks up as tight as when it was brand new. I'll try to take a picture of it tomorrow afternoon

Thanks for posting the pic, can't wait to see the homemade one. Was always a fear of mine to the axis lock. That is, the spring breaking and not being able to use the knife for a long time.

Here is my daily carry and it has remained unchanged since November 26, a really long time for me, but I am trying to carry my knives at least a month before changing over. Also included is an honest to goodness picture of my setup. Love the STR clip for my Tyrade!!:D:thumbup:

Spyderco T-Mag....ultra smooth knife, but super sketchy with no lock...but awesome non the less.

I snipped off a loose thread from my jeans a minute ago with the scissors of my Leatherman Micra, which is on my keychain.

Now I am alternating between posting and re-sharpening the angled portion of my Cold Steel Master Tanto. It's the old stock with brass furniture. It's a controversial company to be sure, but my long-time mentor and friend gave it to me, and it's one helluva knife. :)

Here's what I'm carrying today

Custom Harner neck knife (in 3V & blue jean micarta) & Boker Sub-Claw
