@Dan- That is a Clauss Cokebottle Jack that has all the earmarks of being manufactured by Case. I have no idea as to the age, '50s or '60s, possibly? Here it is close up. Sorry for the old pic

I've been semi-faithful to the peanut, there's only been a few days that I haven't carried it so far. So far so good! I'm just trying to plan ahead for when the urge to carry something else becomes too great

I can relate to that. I have been unfaithful to my precious and I fear it has left me for another owner or has gone into hiding. I haven't seen it in about 3 weeks.

I've got some spares though, but not one like it.

You've got nothing with a straight edge, like a Wharncliffe or sheepfoot blade. Get one of these two:
