what knife sharpener do you use

 I just stood by my guns until the cavalry arrived with reinforcements...Glen and then Clay. Tweren't all my fault! Sides, they goaded me too far, as I can't abide bullies, especially ones with halos, wings and golden auras surrounding them whenever sharpening was mentioned. LOL!
Now we all have halos, wings and golden auras I guess. ROTFLMAO!

Well, the offending posts were pruned and I must confess not having read it all yet (and today isn't the day to start), but I can't help but wonder if the EdgePro Elite weren't just looking for someone to whip like some of the more insecure freehanders do to all jig users. Of course, why not just go after the freehanders for our wobbly, imprecise edges?

Just realized I'm trying to be rational about being irrational. :o

No I didn't get to try that new atom polishing compound, although that and other things were offered at good prices.
Seriously! The whole face of upper atmosphere sharpening is changing so even us commoners can play now! Sorry! I can't seem to get serious today! ;)
What fun!!

It's the start of our Glorious Amphibian Dawn. Two of the Californian sharpening gurus have started importing natural waterstones geared towards kitchen cutlery instead of straight razors and woodworking tools and the ones from the Mid-Atlantic have been keeping us up to our necks in associated sharpening gear. And the Midwestern U.S. keeps the Glasstones flowing like water (sure, they're in Japan and imported in Massachusetts, but I'm just saying...) and up in your GWN, Paul's Finest keeps the Naniwas on tap.

Sometimes, I feel bad for thinking my freehand setup is as good as it gets and not taking the time to exploit my EdgePro to its fullest (still can't sharpen kitchen knives on it worth a darn).

I've got basically everything...

But, belt grinders aside - I like to use the Wicked Edge sharpener to set secondary bevels, and then I finish them to 4,000 grit on a Toromek 10" water-cooled wheel. Follow with stropping to taste.

Chisel ground blades get a similar treatment for the side with the bevel. The flat side is put to glass and taken through four grits of diamond lapping slurry.
