I just got the spyderco tenacious today and it was smaller than i expected it to be, which is a good thing. What knofe did you get that was bigger smalle, better or worse than you thought it woud be? :D

when i got my tenacious the size was right, but it just seemed totally different even though it was the same. i love it though!

Thats funny, I opened the box for my tenacious and said, "huh, bigger than I thought" :D

Buck 110's shear weight surprised the heck out of me.

Every time I get a mora knife I'm surprised at how much smaller it is then I though it would be. I still love them and I forget about it soon enough, but everytime I'm like," Geez this is small."

I feel the same way about the mini grips, seems small but when open it is perfect for my hand. I realized I like the smaller blades, mostly sub 3" for EDC.

My Benchmade 580 Barrage. The first time the assisted action was so fast and loud. It is my first and only assisted opener so far. When I haven't used it in a while it also surprises the heck outta me.

Benchmade 10700 Nagara. I knew it was going to be a classy knife but wow was i surprised at just how nice it is. It`s also slightly bigger than i imagined it being, which turns out not to be a bad thing.

Buck 110 was so heavy you would think it was made of solid gold. Spyderco Endura still surprises me in the variety of grips that are comfortable. Swamp Rat Mini Uncle Mojo not "Mini" by any standards and as heavy as a cinder block but so awesome I just sit and play with it like a pirate with his booty.

The knife that surprised me the most was my first Chris Reeve Knife. It was a Shadow III. I was shocked by the high quality. I had only ever spent about $50 on a knife up until that point. When I got that Shadow III, it was my first High End Knife. It was my first CRK and continues to be one of my favorites. Since then, I have sold nearly ALL my other knives ( except for a select few that have sentimental value ) and went strictly to CRK. Keep up the most excellent work Chris !!!

The Ritter Mini-Griptillian knife.

My "initiation" to the Griptillians wasn't favorable, but the Ritter Mini-Griptillian has become my favorite small knife.

Me too, but it feels really solid. I like the buck 110.

Kershaw Skyline surprised me. Good knife.

For me it would have to be the overall toughness of the Byrd Cara Cara. It was one of my first self purchased folders, in fact one of my first folders altogether. I used it for landscaping, removing and hammering smaller nails in a pinch. Dug out a door lock once. Used it alot for trimming landscape felt on the ground (over rock, metal edging, pavers etc) and it always held up. Tons of sprinkler piping, baton notching, prying fence planks out once (older wood fence so that helped) I've done some things that I figured would destroy the blade but it keeps ticking.

I've decided it's one of my favorites and since belt sanded off the serrations, polished the blade back up, Aluma Hyde' the handle & added a lanyard to show some love back haha. I used a 25 degree polished that lasted a huge amount of time. It now sits in it's "special" place haha, but I do carry it once in a while still. I use another for the same work now :)

Couple of days ago my Kershaw Skyline surprised me again. First time it was how light it was.
This time: I flipped it open and looked curiously and saw now Liner lock was fully engaged. Out of box 5 months ago 3/4 of liner was engaged. After couple of hundred openings and closing Liner is now fully engaged everytime I flip it open. ^^

I was surprised by how honkin' big the ZT 0500 MUDD is. I sold it because it was just too massive for me to ever cary around. On the reverse, I was surprised how small and slim the Benchmade 940 Osborne is. I expected a much bigger knife overall for the blade length.

Two blades have recently surprised me, first being the benchmade 800 AFCK, its alot bigger than I had expected it and when I first saw it I was a bet skeptical as to how pocket friendly it was... man was I wrong.... I know I am begining to sound like a broken record but I cant get over how easy and pleasent it is to carry it in the pocket given its size.. Also another blade that surprised me the other day is the benchmade 705, it is LITTLE! I know it was smaller than a 710 but to me its kinda like the mini mee of the 710.. still looked like a stout blade for its size...

Kellam Slasher, lighter than I expected a 7" blade to be. It carries better on my belt than other knives the same size. It cuts great but isn't the best chopper.
