What Knife to Buy Next?

SOG's assisted folders are fine I guess, but not for the price you pay for them. I'd go with the Blur if you want assisted.
And the Manix 2 is a great choice :D

Hey, I would recommend the BM Griptillian series, or the Centofante 3.

Both the Mini-Grip and the Grip feel pretty good in your hand, open and close very quickly for EDC use, and seem to work pretty well for EDC while being pretty sturdy even without full liners. The Axis lock is really sturdy and hasn't developed any play in any of my Axis lock knives.

The Spyderco Centofante 3 is my only Spyderco (til I buy a Delica :D) and it cuts really well and the lock is really sturdy feeling too. It feels much more like a gentleman's folder to me though.

Have fun with your new knife, whatever you go with.

Personally i think you should go with the tenacious, and the centafonte III. You would be able to get both for under 80 dollars and that would put two more great EDC options in your collection to hold you over for a little longer till your next knife purchase.

I'm not crazy about the handle on the Centofante 3, and I much rather the Manix 2 over the Tenacious

I like the different locking mechanism on the Manix 2, the ergonomic grip, as well as the fact that the spine of the blade stretches all the way to the grip when closed.

Can't beat a Manix2 for EDC (and I know where you can get one NIB for $75) and that is because he has 3 of them.! LOl
I have to many "Safe Queens" and need to do some Safe cleaning so that I can at least see what I have in there with-out moving everything.*!
I hate Spyderco Knives<<<guess that why I have so many of them. lol

Just an update and a few more questions... I am really liking the Spyderco Delica so far. It feels great and opens up pretty fast.

I recently saw however, a video of the Manix 2 ball bearing lock fail the spine wack test. The lock actually failed numerous times... So I am now rethinking my decision of getting the Manix 2...

So I'm now back to square one... I want to choose 2 knives (One larger one for EDC and one assisted opener for fun (and possibly edc).) however I can't make up my mind :(

I was going to go with the Spyderco Manix 2 and the Kershaw leek, but now I have to rethink my decision...

You are the guy with the money, so this is just my .02 cents. i think, personally, that the spine whack test is unrealistic. one, most of the knives on which the locks fail are anomalies. second, that is not a situation that most knives are going to be in, so it is generally abusive instead of constructive. unless you are going to try and stop falling logs with the back of your knife, then that test is basically worthless. i would get the manix 2, and then get the leek/blur. i love them both.

Definitely, slipjoints fail that as well. Used properly and responsibly they're both safe.

I have to admit, this is quite addicting... I just bought a Spyderco Delica 4 FFG and I already want more. I made a list of the knives I hope to get in the future, however I don't know which one I should actually get next. The knife will primarily be for EDC. Here is the list... I know its long but I don't actually expect to buy every single one of these knives. I just wanted to put all the viable candidates down on paper:

- Spyderco
- Endura
- Manix 2
- Tenacious
- Caly 3
- Centofante III

- Benchmade
- Griptilian
- Mini Griptilian

- SOG
- Flash 2
- Trident
- Aegis

- Kershaw
- Leek
- Blur

- Cold Steel

- Recon 1

Note the Cold steel wouldn't be for EDC use... It just looks awesome.

I have a budget of about 80 bucks for my next knife.

I know It might seem like I'm asking a lot , but I just want to choose my next blade.

Thanks :D

mini grip. forget the rest and save for a small sebenza.

I was looking into the Manix 2...It's pretty heavy at 5oz... Maybe I will get the mini grip

I have just started collecting knifes, and really using them. I have just got a couple and now looking for more. I bought a esee izula II, for my first knife and have used it alot it is a great little knife. Then I just got the esee 5 partially on the mass of the knife, and me being a big dude. Haven't used it yet but can't wait til I can. I am looking for a EDC also and was looking at the BM Grip and was thinking that was the way, to go but will have to look into the Spyderco Manix 2 also, it looks like it would do a great job also.

In my opinion, the Manix 2 would be a much better choice over the BM Grip. The handles on the Grip feel cheap and plasticky compared to the Manix. The mini grip on the other hand is a different story.

Go with the Kershaw Blur, Leek or the Skyline. Honestly, they are so addicting, you will flipping while in the "man cave", and the wife will say is that noise really necessary??

I think the leek also makes that noise (which I am getting along with the Manix 2). I prefer the leek because it is easier to sharpen compared to the blur
