Hi, im going to be going on a canoe trip up in Canada and while I do already have several knives adequate for this trip I am wanting to get a knife or two probably a fixed blade and a folder both with stainless steel and that would be good for boating. thanks

not too expensive please

For the folder I'd take something from Spyderco in H1, they have plenty offerings to suite your fancy.

A harpoon just to be on the safe side. You never know what they will have up in Canada.

Cold Steel canadian belt knife. About 12 bucks, razor sharp, pouch sheath. Kinda cool actually and you wont mind if you drop it overboard. Has a lanyard hole.

If you intend to actually eat fish, get a Cutco "Fishermans Friend" - one of the better fish fillet knives out there (skip the Forschner type knives unless you work in a fish market).

Try the Havalon Baracuta with the 5" fish filet SS interchangeable blade. Spare blades run $3.00.

spyderco pacific salt or salt 1 ive swam and used it in the ocean for 3 days strait as a dive knife no rust and it kept its razor edge. and cleans so easy. scaled, skinned, and gutted fish works flawlessly. anything near water spydercos H1 is the way to go!!!

BUCK Silver Creek Bait Knife

Regular blade on one side & serrations on the top. Will fillet & cut rope. After 10 min it was scary sharp. Serrations are plenty sharp enough out of the box. Great knife for approx. $23 + shipping.

Every one of my kitchen knives are Forschner (Fibrox). What's wrong with them? Cheap, work well, hold an edge, etc.
