What knife will you pass on?

I made mention of this very thing in the "What makes a good, Traditional Barlow" thread sometime back.

These two--I have two boy's , they can lay claim to the one they like best---either the Clip or Spear TC Barlow in Gabon Ebony :thumbup:

the OP's courthouse whittler looks very dignified, being so well used and worn. Reminds me that it is kind of poignant the way a knife wears down, when we buy a nice shiny new knife, it looks like it can last forever, but it slowly wears away like everything else. These are the only thoughts relating to death and passing of time that I am willing to entertain right now. I'd be happy if my knives were passed on to people who appreciate them, but most of my friends and family don't understand my hobby at all.

This one for sure.

Given to me by my friend Omar.

I actually own few knives (for a "knife nut"), but those gifted to me by friends (and that absolutely includes from my wonderful friends here via giveaway or whatever) stay with me, or on rare occasion, are passed on to fellow friends. Those that are in my possession when I pass will go to my daughters. I have 4. :)

I will be passing on my folding Buck Kalinga with the rose wood scales including other knives I have carried with regularity. However, one of those knives will be 6 feet down with me on my belt in the grave one day.

There are only three that I want to pass on for sure to my son as heirlooms and all three were passed on to me. My dads Buck 501, his dads old timer stockman, and my moms fathers camillus stockman.

Assuming my kids take an interest in pocket knives, they can split mine up as they see fit.

None!

I told the family to stick me in a wooden boat of some kind, on top of a bunch of dry brush, dowse with gas and shove it out on the Chesapeake bay for a Viking funeral. My precious in my pockets and a full bottle of Evan Williams on board.

They probably won't do that, so all my precious's will be given away in my last days. Unless I keel over suddenly with the big one. Then it's every man for himself. My younger boy wants the resolza.

Carl.

Lol, now that would be a fine exit wouldn't it! :)

I am a little young to have given it much thought but I admit it has crossed my mind. My wife laughed at me and told me she would just put me in my Filson double mac cruiser and stuff one of my knives in my pocket. OTOH if I were to have a son or even daughter who wanted some of the things I value more it would be nice to pass them on.

I have many knives to pass on, and only 3 children and a grandchild as of now. They are welcome to any and all of them.
