If the world went to hell and you had to leave your comfy home and survive in the wilderness and could only take one blade what one would it be? It can be any knife you want. You dont have to currently own it. Itd have to be a knife for survival and self-defense.

A small-to-medium-sized (by khukuri standards) full-tang Himalayan Imports khukuri for the wilderness -- chopper, slicer, draw knife, pry bar.. effective and stout.

A quality medium-sized blade (by mere mortal standards) for mixed post-urban/wilderness. Of my small collection, the Son of Dogfather is in that slot -- very nice handle, and the meaty slab of SR-77 is just right.

If the range of wilderness-only options were slightly expanded, I'd take a large but very light folding-frame bucksaw with spare blades and a 5" INFI all-arounder.

1st choice-Randall Model 1(7" O1 blade)
2nd choice-Chris Reeve Mountaineer II or Nkonka
3rd choice-Buck 124

...others Busses,Bark Rivers,RATS,Dosiers,Kosters,Kriens...etc

How about this one?

"Armageddon", huh?
well...i'ld luv to have me one of those genuine jimmy lile made Rambo ii sawbacks.

Id have to say a Kukuri or something that would chop....maybe a 12ga and AR-15, Glock and lots of ammo....Oh yeah and a Mad Max car :D

A good Kukhri for hard job.
A my trusty Ka-Bar or Rat cultery's RC-6 for other job
Rat Izula for Back-up with Puukko for medium chores.
My Syderco Tencaious and Kershaw Lahar would act as Folder back-ups.

and maybe with those I would get good .308 Hunting rifle and search for .357 Magnum Colt Python or some S&W large frame models ^^

The one I've been trying to find in this thread. I'm leaning towards light kukri/short machete type camp knife like the ones in my last post in that thread.

I'm more concerned about SD but the design I'm looking for could work as a utility knife as well.

Feel free to give your opinion :)
