Interesting....the voting shows the 112 as top vote getter, but the posts seem more towards a tactical?

Actually, the 532 would be my first choice in a folder.:D

Buck should just open the custom shop up again... Like it was in San Diego... Cause I want a 24" blade 120 or 124 and a fixed Blade 112 all in stag... I don't want to much... We can go back and forth about what we all want for ever... I'm still waiting for a 119 that you can change the blade to an axe... Like Case as... ... But better... :D ... ITE

I hear you ITE. It would be fairly easy to have the folding Alpha Hunter for a custom, in my opinion. It looks like it is three basic parts, the frame, blade, and the handles. Blades I think could be pre made, as the handle materials, then it would just need to be assembled. HL

My thinking about the Vantage is that it's possibly the new flagship folder for the company. It has the price, build quality, premium steel, modern materials, and clip design that appeals to younger buyers. These younger knife buyers are the future for any Knife Company. So the Vantage seems like a very good choice to add to the custom shop at least to me. And like the Alpha mentioned above, not that complicated to put together like the 110. I believe this is what PlumDave was getting at in his comments.

i love it. its affordable, has various options and the clip and flip action is great.

also looks good, i tend to use flick open knives more often but i still love the oldschool style knives as well.

I'll throw another 1/2 vote to the 112 and the other half to the 55. Some of us have blade length restrictions...and we want a custom Buck, too. :)

I would not like to see a specific knife. I would like to see Buck bring back their Damascus blades.

:) The 110 needs to stay as a custom shop option. It's a dinosaur too, but it's Buck's flagship dinousaur and folks are always going to want 110 customs.
I say add the Vantage line to cater to some of the younger crowd like me that want something a little more modern for a change.;)

dittos here
yes time marches on and the younger ones now have money to spend
many of them will come to love the classic 110
some of us old timers may come to like other then the 110

me .. i likes them all
jest dont have that much money

I want an upgrade metal 119BR - but a custom 112 would be nice. Today I'm young... Friday, I'll be old (62 - hard to believe!).

Is there a sheath for that custom 119 that will mount on my walker??

Stainz

:)You youngun's kill me. I'm near 68 and no walker in sight! I hope to get a sheath made to fit on the forks of one of my Harley's though.:D

I would like to see the Buck folding Kalinga done up with Rosewood scales and a damascus blade together with a natural brown oiled leather sheath.

I'd love to be able to get a titanium handled custom 110.

Custom 110 with various handle options:

Brass handled custom 110: Plain and stamped (classic design like the 111 Classic) options (with & without finger grooves).

Nickel-Silver handled custom 110: Plain and stamped options (finger groove option).

Anodized aluminum (various colors) handled custom 110: Plain and stamped options (FG option).

Clear resin handled custom 110: Plain and textured options (FG option).

Yeah, well, and I want a 110 with color case-hardened bolsters, too. Dream on.

:D It is funny how this thread went from -What Knife would you like to see as a Custom Shop Option? (out of these 5 choices-hypothetically of course :D), to ah heck just tell us your custom shop knife dream... :D LOL

Speaking only for myself, that's precisely why I've moved away from production knives and into the realm of custom knives as my interests in this hobby have matured. I've gotten sorta spoiled by being able to pick up the phone and tell the guy who's going to be making my knife exactly what I want. Just did it this morning, in fact.

Truly, it's one of the great luxuries in life. But you're right, it ain't cheap.

This is a great thread and it got my steam up.

Dreams, you betcha, but based upon past Buck products and current technology (practical/profitable custom products, maybe, maybe not):

Brass handle 110: Buck made 5 brass handled 111 Classic with scroll designs. Pic: sorry, no known photographs exist...

Aluminum handle 110: Buck made aluminum 111s. pic: http://www.cartertown.com/images/Knives/MyMiscKnives/Buck111.jpg

Titanium handle 110: Buck made titanium 560s. pic: http://www.customknivesandsticks.co.uk/buck560s.jpg

Clear resin: If Spyderco can made a clear Manix2 then Buck can make a clear 110. pic: http://spydercollector.files.wordpr...rco_amsterdammeet2010_prototype_manix2frn.jpg

Nickel Silver: Now that is a dream. You got me there. Buck simply cannot do this. Impossible. Why even try. Forget about it.
