What knife would you bring when going out of town for a week? I'm bringing my zome delica 4

Victorinox recruit so I don't have to worry about local laws, but also because it's been in my pocket since November anyways.
 
...depends where you're going; what you plan to do there...
But I guess a Caly 3 would handle most situations...
 
Well I'm taking my wife and daughter to visit my grandparents in SE Texas. And I've changed my mind on the delica. I used it a few times tonight and realized that not having my sharpmaker with me I'll be needing better edge retention. I'll be taking my Kershaw Camber in s30v instead.

Right now, my Kershaw Shuffle is my travel knife. I work for an airline and travel often. This knife is cheap and gets the job done. If I lose it, I'm only out $15.
 
I went to the in-laws place in Wisconsin last week for a belated Christmas and I took my new spyderco Manix 2 and a Kizer Ophid. And I threw a mini-grip in the console of the Jeep just in case. Oh, and the wifes Grip is always in the Jeep also.
 
I usually take something cheap like my Kabar Dozier or a Rat 2. In other words, something not over $30. I just don't trust baggage handlers. If I'm going to lose a knife, I want it to be a cheap one. If I'm going hunting, I lock my knife up with my rifle.

This. I generally fly with a Victorinox Cadet and a Kershaw Leek in my checked bag.

I'll be traveling for a week soon, but I'm driving so I just have to worry about state law. Probably take a Millie and maybe a BM 531.
 
I almost always carry my leatherman wingman with me on trips, just in case, other that, I check local laws, and check my itinerary, and carry accordingly.
