Sadly I had no luck as there were no other knives besides the one cheapo stainless kitchen knives that weren't there yesterday.
They're a distant relatives in some way, so maybe they keep me in mind if they find it.
I figured it went to a J martini fillet knife, and yes it's identical to that sheath.They made/make fillet knives that come with a leather sheath. Does it look like this? They came with and without the flourish on the end, and with or without tooling.

According to my dad my grandfather owned one (he distinctly remembers the tail on the end of the sheath ) so I may have to pick one up since his is long gone.My friends father has one and it's pretty good for the money. Think of it like the Mora/Svord/Opinel of fillet knives.
Not a lot to it, but a pretty good bargain with a decent steel for what you need it to do.
