I'm not talking protos I mean the onesthat are going to be produced?

I remember seeing a couple new knives at Spyderco's booth. They had the Trakker, the ATR, and the Paramilitary on display. The Trakker looks pretty cool, it's got a real nice blade shape. The ATR is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It looks like a good solid work knife, much like the Sebenza. The Paramilitary looks good too. It has a tan colored G-10 handle. It's bigger than I thought it would be, but it's still a good size for me. I'll probably get one. There might have been other new knives on display but I didn't see them all.

Did the trakker they had on display have the sculpted FRN handles? How did they look?

I am very excited about the ATR. I hope it makes it to production soon.

The new Native was a big improvement over the old one IMHO. Also, it is a blast meeting Sal and the guys, and Joyce as well. BTW, I thought that the SPOT was kind of goofy looking, but having handled one, I really like it.

I'm interested in hearing more about that new Native...I was going to get the old one but now I may have to wait for the new one..

they are doing it on purpose!

lets pop into the thread and tease the poor people who didn't go to blade by saying little things like "the new native is a big improvement!"

grrrrr;)

Hi All,

Great fun meeting so many of you at Blade! We displayed 40+ new concept and prototypes at the show. As many of you know, concept knives for us are 'an idea in a tangible form' which we show to the public, look for reaction/suggestions and then we may or may-not ever manufacture. It's a way of involving everyone interested in both the R&D and brainstorming process and ultimately making a better product. Prototypes are models we're committed to manufacturing and aim/hope to have in the market within 6 months (tough making that goal consistently as many of you know).

Sorry for the no picture rule....we publicly post pics only of the models we've committed to manufacturing and have scheduled to have in-house within the 6 month time frame (prototypes). In our strange world, we've allowed concept knives to be photographed and then found 'knock offs' produced before we've even decided whether to manufacture the item or not. If you wanna see an R&D guy weep like a hungry baby that's what happens when their designs are made, manufactured and are out creating a profit for someone who had nothing at all to do with their conception.

Studio pics of the new Kiwi, Ronin, Impala, Trakk'r, Anniversary Knife arrive in the next couple weeks and we'll get 'em up and posted for all to peruse.

Thanks! There wouldn't be a Spyderco without your incredible feedback and support. It's appreciated.

Does that mean that these models are close to release or are in the production stage now?

Joyce would hurt me badly! Never anger a spyderco lady. :D :D :D :D

Hi Joyce:
I wasn't able to make it to Blade, but am very anxious to hear any comments (good or bad) regarding the SpyderHawk concept. I was of the belief that this was going to make the trip to Blade, and if so, can you provide any general comments? Or even better, specifics?
Thanks,
Brian

Well, if the Ronin is going to make it, then can the "Yojimbo" be far behind?...

I am greatly anticipating the Ronin as I bought an original from Mike while at the Show.

I am even more eager to get my hands on a Yojimbo folder!:D :D

These would definately be buyers and users.

Ed

I got to spend a little time with Sal before the Blade Show one morning and he showed me a bunch of cool prototypes. Wish I could have taken a picture but I knew better than ask. You guys will be very surprised about what will be coming out very soon from Spyderco. I am really excited about the ParaMilitary. Its a cool piece.

Morning Everybody,

Hi Dennis- Yes, the Kiwi, Ronin, Impala, Trakk’r and Anniversary models are all in various stages of manufacture. As you all know, hitting an EXACT delivery date is a challenge for Spyderco, but we’re doing everything possible to get these out and available within the next 6 months.

Zach- Like I would hurt you –RLOL. Great seeing again you at Blade!

Hawkbill- Not sure was the ‘SpyderHawk’ concept is? Feed me more details….

EdwardB- No schedule for the Yojimbo yet.

Joyce @ Spyderco
