Currently, a Spyderco G10 police, fully serrated in RF pocket, G10 harpy in LR pocket and Steve Corkum Seibai neck knife under my shirt.

I am not an LEO but have supplied a Marion County (IN) Reserve Officer friend of mine with most of his blades.

His Favourite?

The Benchmade Stryker Auto, plainedge.

I am also going to soon be sending a BM Axis to an old friend of mine who just started on the Greenville NC Police Dept (gotta thin the edge out a la Joe Talmadge first!)

I was an LEO for 15 years and most of that time I carried a Spyderco Endura in my left sap pocket.

For uniform wear, I have my custom handled BM CQC7 on my duty belt. Under my uniform shirt, I have my Hatin TEC tanto neck knife under my left arm and a G10 Tactical under my right. Both are accessed through a velcro buuton in the shirt. In my left pocket, I clip either a BM Stryker, a carbon fiber handled Elishewitz Omega E5, or a S&W 1251 Auto. In my right pocket is a CRKT K.I.S.S. that holds my cash. For the heavy-duty entry fun, I have a Hatin TEC AT6 Tanto in 1/4" A2 stowed in my duty bag.

BM 800 HS in Left front pocket
Spydie Military in Right front pocket
Hobbit Fang (Belt clip attachment) on Left strap of body armor (upside down, shoelace wrap)

For on-person carry I only need a CS Safekeeper to be fully within training/policy.

In Car: CS recon Tanto in MDT bracket, Leatherman in gear bag, and CS LTC Khukri in trunk.

Now lets get into how many firearms...

I carry an Emerson Raven in my front right pocket and a Spyderco Cricket in my left rear pocket. I need to get a knife to wear around my neck. The Emerson LaGriffe looks good. If anyone has one available at a good price let me know.
Thanks,
Mike

Your department frowns on fixed blades, but you can carry a firearm...some things just don't make any sense to me. I wonder what they were thinking when they came up with that rule?

I'm not Shootist16, but I think I know the answer. Liability, attorneys, juries, liability, attorneys, juries, and on and on...
You and I know it doesn't make sense, but that really doesn't count now does it?

GC:

I guess you have a point there. I'm not a LEO, but when I read Shootist16's post, I started shaking my head in awe. All LEOs carry a sidearm, which can do more or just as much damage as a knife and has better range. And you all probably have access to a shotgun/rifle, but his department has a problem with certain knives? Weird...

K, It's an image thing. Though peace officers are society's warriors, gladiators, if you will, we are considered a neccesary evil. Officer safety is often placed on the backburner for an improved public image. Tactics and weapons decisions are based on the publics uninformed or worse, misinformed perception, instead of what does the OFFICER need for his safety and wellbeing. Sorry, didn't mean to burden you with an old law dogs gripes.

MAN, does that bite?!?! I'm gonna talk to some cops around here, and see what their situation is. Is there anything civilians can do about it?

I recently acquired a m2 AFCK plainedge. I have found myself carrying it on duty quite often lately.

On duty in uniform: Spyderco Endure 50/50 left front pocket for Weapons Retention.

CS Gunsite Right front pocket.

Gerber Appelgate Fairbane folding combat rear pocket.

Spyderco Endura II Fully serrated clipped inside vest trauma plate.

In Tactical Vest

Cs Folding Shinubo Tanto in pocket.

Gerber Multiplyer in pocket.

I am also looking for a La Griffe for neck wear or a good neck knife sounds like someone in the dealers forum should swoop in with a L.E.O discount and make a few sales here.

Not an LEO, but around here the cops must be pretty gullible. SWAT knife is the weapon of choice. Some people buy the hype.

Preach the gospel of good knives to your ignorant brothers, good Officers.
