Over on the blade discussion they are asking what the moderators are carrying these days. I'm curious what the MAKERS are carrying....Are they knives of your own creation, other customs or just good old factory knives? Pics are welcome, hint hint!!!:)

Along with a Gerber Sport plier and a SAK this is what I'm currently carrying on a daily basis. ALso a small Sebenza at times, AL mAr SERE 2000, Benchmade Axis Lock knives and a Tom Anderson Howler on special occasions. Rob Davidson integral lock folder on other special occasions.

Every day I tell myself i'm gonna make one for me to carry. Hasen't happened yet. Actually, being a new maker and all, I really can't afford to carry one of my own just yet. So, for now a BM QCQ7 and a MT combat talon I got on trade will have to do. I've been carrying the BM for the last 6yrs I think. Every day, even sleep with it; clipped to the pocket of my jamies.
Hey theres a thread.
How many of you knife nuts sleep with your knives?

I carry a "BUMP" of coarse. It has poor fit and finish, the lock wont hold and the edge goes dull too fast but I made it myself.

It changes, the one I am carrying is the first damascus blade that I made. After this weekend, it will be a motorcycle chain damascus. It was made from the first chain I took of my 1947 Indian Chief, 25 years ago.

Here's the one I carry all the time, I made it to sale but it is so comfortable I kept it, I don't even know I'm carrying it most the time. I used to carry a buck pocket knife that was my dads, more for sentimental
reasons then to use, this one is so much handier, just slip it out and use it then slide it back, all with one hand. Its a better knife than that ol buck anyway.

Hey nice knives guys! I think I saw yours Ray, at Tom Anderson's folder-in. That was a beauty, in fact all your knives were sweet!

The two fixed blades look to be very comfortable and utilitarian. Of course, I would expect nothing less of talented makers. Let's see some more......:)

I am carrying the Brass sheathed Gen Tac I just made at the present,It is a very handy little knife.I have a Damascus Blade and 5160 Blade for skinning and heavey duty work around the house..So I guess I just carry my own knives..That was one reason I got into making knives,I couldn't afford a ggod knife to carry and the knives I could afford were crap. Not now I carry my own and if it fails I can only blame myself.

A Microtech Lightfoot LCC folder.... Awesome for a production folder... I keep threatening to make folders but dont seem to get the time to actually make them... For the $$$ you cant beat the Microtech for an everyday beater...

You all make me feel like a nerd. Like Bruce E I was motivated to make knives because I can't afford the good ones others make -- but unlike Bruce I haven't kept any of mine. That's always on my radar but never seems to happen. I guess it must be because I don't make actual using knives, they all get put in a drawer somewhere. I really have to do something about that! I have a plan, too...

Meanwhile, I usually carry a little 6" Itallian clicker, good for opening the mail and not much else. My "Sunday" knife is a stag Hubertus 8 cm, very pretty -- but still not all that useful.

Working at gun shows I strap a Gerber A-F Combat Folder to my side and wow the kids with its snappy opening. :D

I'm gonna make myself a carry knife -- Honest!

Dave

I carry this one everyday in a pocket sheath. It fits perfect in my Levi's.

I forged the blade from cable and this one has a caribou handle with an ebony cap.

I carry my MT LCC i got from Peter here :) Love that blade. I used to carry a small FB in a leather snap over style sheath, but that is a no no at work and school and stuff, so i stick with my MT. got some nice ironwood for the handle, too finally :)

You guys are making and carrying some great stuff. Love those wharncliffs of yours Running Dog! How are you getting that cool pawprint logo? Is it masked off before beadblasting?

Glad you're enjoying the Microtech Taz! That is definitely a high quality knife and I hated to part with it. Let's see a pic of the ironwood handles.:)

More??? C'mon Darrel, I really posted this question so you'd show us your new proto!;)

Thanks Peter...

Our knives feature a two tone paint job:)

The pawprint is white Gun-Kote on a grey or black base coat of the same...

This is my daily carry and has been for the better part of ten years. I have a two blade folding hunter I started a couple years ago. If I ever get it finished it will become my edc.
I hope this animated gif works!!! :D

Being a hobby maker (I was outside working on #6 and #7 just now) I carry my Benchmade AFCK! I was looking at getting a Stryker, but then I got to thinking that I should make a few knives, sell them and get a Strider flatground AR!
