What Knives Exceeded Your Expectations?

My Remington M series framelock is the first to come to mind. Made in USA of 420HC steel, not sure if made by Buck but sounds like the same steel on 110. Locks up tight, takes a razor sharp edge. Available for $15 and up from websources.

Small regular Sebbie. I wasn't too fond of the plain classic I had, but the plain reg ran everything else out of my EDC rotation.

Caly 3. Went into the store looking for something else. Tried the Caly 3 just for laughs and bought it on the spot. Bought another one for a gift and I'll be getting a third one for b/u to the one I kept.

Spyderco Waved Endura. Buying online gave me concerns over it's size, but it's taken over my left pocket without a complaint.

1. The Microtech Mini SOCOM Elite Frame Lock

2. The Benchmade 806 D2 AXIS

3. The Benchmade 335 D2 (Mono/frame lock) 2003 Limited Edition

Bradley Cutlery Alias I and II. I do not see how the Sebenza would be any better, but I plan to find out :D

Also the Spiderco Native. I dislike Spyderco's in general, but for the price, the Native impressed the crap out of me.

1. Spyderco BG-42 CF Millitary -- amazingly rigid, tight, light and sharp. Hyped a lot on the boards and when I got it I saw why....
2. Fallkniven F1 -- amazing bang for the buck for under 100.00
3. Spyderco Caly Jr -- a folding straight razor -- it arrived so sharp and is so light that it made me laugh

Kershaw Shallot. Slim design, love the flipper/assisted opener, feels good in my hand, feels solid very sharp, cuts very well. Like the 3.5" blade.
This knife really surprised me.:thumbup:

Small, inexpensive slipjoints propably won't be the first to come to mind when reading this thread, but the Victorinox Classic in alox has been the knife that exceeded my expectations the most. Maybe because you wouldn't expect much from such a tiny thing. But there seems to be an endless supply of small tasks that can be handled by that little gem. It has provided a ton of service, and mostly with its other tools. I have knives I like better, but none that has exceeded my expectations as much.

Spyderco Native II followed a Spyderco BG-42 CF Millitary

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your point of view they have brought to a halt my EDC rotation.

The only time I EDC a different set of knives is when I dress-up or go into a NPE situation.

Taylor made Schrade Extreme Survival. 17 dollars. I wasnt expecting much, but thats a lot of knife. Heavy and sharp. It lops off small limbs with ease. Ive dulled it up pretty good and have it back to shaving sharp in just a couple of minutes.

Folders---Sebenza, HD-7 with the Krein Grind, P-Military.
FB---Hartsfield, and Leu.
I'm still waiting on my Busse GW.

Every Bark River I ever opened up.
