What knives have you actually worn out?

My very first knife- all that's left is the blade... Still have it too... It's locked away with my buck 112

I abused one until the handle came off and the sheath started coming apart. I gave it to a friend to put back together 40 yr ago. I wouldn't be surprised but what it is still being used somewhere. When I was growing up my mom and dad had a old steel butcher knife and a matching paring knife that they had for 20 years. My sister inherited them and the last I heard they had been passed to one of my nephews. These are/were the Old Hickory style knives, high carbon steel, with about the same color as our iron skillets. These inexpensive knives lasted at least 3 generations. The only knife that I came close to wearing out is my Buck 110 - the blade has some lateral play in it. Under average use a knife will not 'wear out' in a life time.

I wore out a Vic Spartan that was my only EDC for 20 years. The springs kind of gave up. I even sent it in for new scales about five years before it was retired. Original scales fell off. This replacement was free warranty work!

I was really working on wearing out a knife of mine right before I lost it, I had sharpened it so much that I had to re-profile the blade, not the bevel, the blade, and that was after 9 or 10 years of real use, I finally threw out a cheap folder I got 16ish years ago, it was a third the height that it started at, both scales gone etc.

I carried a black FRN Spyderco Wayne Goddard for 6 or so years until it stopped locking.
Lots of life left in the blade, just not safe to carry any more.
