What knives have you had that seem to break the most?

I've been curious about this too. One of the things I've also wondered is how original emersons compare to the zt Emerson collaborations in strength and durability to regular emersons.

Me too... Have/ had lots of Emersons, and they take everything I dish out... Still edc a CQC-13

Dropped a cold steel mini recon once while climbing a ladder and cracked the G10. Other than all my knives have remained intact. Knock on wood.

This one kind of blew my mind. I don't think I've ever heard of G10 breaking, especially just from being dropped, granted from the top of a ladder is pretty high. Was it a hair line crack in the handle or an actual separation in the scale?

I haven't seen G10 break, but aren't most Cold Steel's grivory? I have seen that break (arguably though not from a fall of a few feet...). I guess anything can break in the right circumstance. Conversely I bought a cheap Cold Steel tanto-lite for a beater/abuser and that thing has taken abuse that is shocking to me.

Just a smallish crack, the scale was still intact. It was on a construction site from about 15ft onto rough concrete. Surprised it wasn't worse off.

Had a spring in a microtech otf break, luckily repaired by the dealer for me. Other than that I've had a few Busse's that survived a hell of a lot.
Not much else to report.

No real Breakage to the point the knife would not cut but a few things come to mine.
Broken Torsion bars
Blades grinding on handle liners when opening ( not really broken but annoying )
Stripped pivot screws / handle screws from factory
Incredibly tough sticky lock-in mechanism
Certain blade steels I just can't seem to sharpen
All in all though from all the different makes and styles of knife that I have had pass through my hands been quite happy with the overall Fit for purpose of the knives begin offered. Still having fun Faron.

Really?
What failed, and what were you doing with it?
I have had no breakage issues with my Emersons, ever.

I just use them like I would any other knife they are the "most hard use knives in the world". When my 7's failed I was cutting something and the knife slipped and the back of the blade hit the railing and the lock bar slipped off the blade tang and resulted in a catastrophic failure. Thankfully emersons dull easily and I was wearing gloves or a hospital visit might have been needed. I sent it in to emerson to be fixed and not three months later the lock is slipping off the tang again under just hand pressure.

The liners need to be thicker end of story they are so thin the standard production stuff does not even need a relief cut for the system to work. My custom's liner is much thicker and the ZT Emersons titanium frame is damn near three times as thick and they have given me issues. The only thing keeping emerson in business is the reputation and the die hard fan base, their products are stuck in the early 90's. And I have 4 emersons I love the knives just cant stand all the excuses made for them anymore.

The Zt's are what emersons should be now IMHO, way better materials, fit/finish and superior cutting ability due to them being a conventional grind on the blade.
