The other thread got me thinking. I have many knives I like so well that I'd replace them if they got caught in a wandering black hole. On the other hand, I have many that I wouldn't replace. It's not that they're bad knives; it's just that I haven't developed a "bond" with them.
I'm not talking about all the cheap, junky knives that have fallen in your lap over the yearsthe ones that you got for five bucks at a knife showbut what knives do you have and carry that you just wouldn't bother replacing?
With me, I'd have to say the CRKT Desert Cruiser is one. It's got nice big grips and a good hilt, but the sand colored Zytel and steel frame are a bit much. In fact, the only two CRKTs I have that I would replace would be the M21-04 and the M16-14SFA. I certainly wouldn't miss my M16-13Z (AUS6). If I lost that, I'd go out and get a Byrd Cara Cara, which is a much better buy.
But how about you? Which ones wouldn't you jump into the quicksand pit for?
The Desert Cruiser is a good knife in many respects, but way too
big. The blade is ground on only the left side (and I'm right handed),
and the serrations are course and bumpy.
