What Knives Would You NOT Replace?

The other thread got me thinking. I have many knives I like so well that I'd replace them if they got caught in a wandering black hole. On the other hand, I have many that I wouldn't replace. It's not that they're bad knives; it's just that I haven't developed a "bond" with them.

I'm not talking about all the cheap, junky knives that have fallen in your lap over the years—the ones that you got for five bucks at a knife show—but what knives do you have and carry that you just wouldn't bother replacing?

With me, I'd have to say the CRKT Desert Cruiser is one. It's got nice big grips and a good hilt, but the sand colored Zytel and steel frame are a bit much. In fact, the only two CRKTs I have that I would replace would be the M21-04 and the M16-14SFA. I certainly wouldn't miss my M16-13Z (AUS6). If I lost that, I'd go out and get a Byrd Cara Cara, which is a much better buy.

But how about you? Which ones wouldn't you jump into the quicksand pit for?

The Desert Cruiser is a good knife in many respects, but way too
big. The blade is ground on only the left side (and I'm right handed),
and the serrations are course and bumpy.

My SOG Spec Elite I. It's a very cool knife and a lot of fun to own, but way too expensive for what you get.

My list is probably pretty long, maybe this means I should try to sell/trade them. Its not that I don't like them, I just like others that I have more, so I hardly ever use them. I wouldn't want to give them away, but I wouldn't be upset if I lost any of them.

SOG Twitch II
Benchmade Pika
CRKT first strike
CRKT big dog
Spyderco dragonfly

EDIT: Alot of CRKT showing up in this thread

Ka-Bar short, I don't use it, I built a fire with it once, but it was hard with that shape.

It was $45, and I beat the crap out of it.

Any of the Cold Steel or Case knives I still haven't sold off.

Actually, of all the knives I own, if I suddenly "lost" them all, I doubt I'd replace more than a dozen or so.

Probably my SOG Seal Pup. It's an okay knife, there are just other knives I would be much happier to replace it with.

I can understand why you wouldn't replace your Case knives, but what Cold Steel models do you own that you don't like?

CRKT. Yuck.

As for the other ones...I dont know. I would probably replace many of them.

Besides all the ones I've already sold, I still have left:

In Carbon-V-- SRK, Recon Tanto, Stag Trailmaster, and a twistmaster

In AUS-8A--2 Vaqueros and Voyager.

I somewhat like the ones made by Camillus (mostly the Stag Trailmaster,) but nowhere near enough to buy a second time.

My cheaper than dirt rough use knife. POS broke on the 3rd hit batoning through a piece of wood. Guess mine wasn't as tough as then one tested on knifetest.com. Good thing it was $10.

SOG Topo Meridian. Ugly slow, uncomfortable, slow assisted opening, pocket clip hurts the hand. Hard to clean.

My Gator brand survival knife, complete with slingshot, fishing spear knife, and mod rip off logo's.
Congratulations to China on making one of the most worthless pieces of complicated, dull, soft metalled, worthless pieces of crap on the planet.

SOG Flash 2. It's the only knife I've ever bought that I regret. There have been some that weren't what I thought they were going to be, but the Flash 2 was just a bad choice.

It was amazingly sharp out of the box, but I hate the clip (in my opinion it's the absolute WORST pocket clip ever designed), the handle feels cheap, it's too slippery and the safety is annoying and doesn't engage well.

It's a well enough made knife, but it kinda soured my on SOG in general.

Kershaw mini-cyclone. Nothing really wrong with the knife, It's just kinda uninspiring, and also a little heavy for its size. Probably the biggest strike against it, is that A/O systems on knives get on my nerves. I keep oscillating back and forth on whether to sell it or not, but at this point its still in the drawer....maybe next week though....

Psychopomp I am with you all the way on the SOG Flash 2 it is sharp but everything about it I just can't like and I don't own one and don't see one in my future any time soon. But to answer this thread there is really no knife besides maybe my Ka Bar Dozier folder, it's a nice knife but it was on clearance at work for about $8 so I bought it.
