Thats the MI statute for "knives" in school.

My personal opinion is that I agree more with AZ state law than anything. A Knife (no matter what the length) is not a deadly weapon, but a tool. If used as a weapon it becomes a "dangerous instrument".

But as it is, I think its ******* pointless to make a law stopping kids from carrying a knife to school, as if they want to carry it, they are likely going to carry it. Columbine killers used guns, not knives. Get over it...
 
If you do feel the need to bring a knife to school, even after having everyone warn you against it, don't bring the butterfly knife. They've got a very negative rep and despite any excuses you may have(there really is no reason to have one at school) they will see it as a weapon. A swiss army knife might get you in a little less trouble and is probably better in an emergency situation(not of the SD variety) than a balisong would be.

Note to FBI: please address this issue promptly before someone gets hurt.
 
Cuchuga, it's a little late for the FBI to address this issue "promptly". The thread is over a year old, the original poster showed up, posted 4 times that day, and hasn't been back since. Why would you resurrect this? :confused:
