What lives in this hole?????

Actually, I kinda think that might have been dug by a muskrat, at some time when the water line was higher.

I've seen some holes like that made by burrowing owls. However, there is usually a lot more dirt near the opening that looks as if it was excavated from the hole.

That's a real head scratcher!

When I first saw the hole I said to myself " Self go ahead and man up, stick your hand in there. Thats what they'd do if this was on TV." And then I realized Those morons get paid good money to do that stuff. I definately dont get paid enough to do that crap.

When I climbed the hill and carefully peeked in the hole I couldnt tell how deep it went because it was real dark inside there. I decided to leave well enough alone and just take a few pictures.

I will be going back next weekend, and I plan on investigating a little bit more, but there aint no way I am gonna stick my arm in that hole!!:)

Looks like thers only one way to find out REKUT.:D You know ya gotta do it man, reach in there and just start yankin!!!:p

Brother, that aint gona happen!!:D

Theres an old saying "when your scared, say your scared." Well Im scared!! I showed up at the park with ten fingers and thats the way I want to leave!!:)

If you can activate the flash on your camera, that might give a little deeper view into the hole. Or maybe a redneck cavern probe: Attach the camera to a walking stick and ease it in a couple feet before taking a flash photo (perhaps by setting the self timer)?

Just a thought----not trying to get you bit!

Go ahead cm. Stick your hand in there.:D

What the hell is THAT??? Kinda looks like a giant dong that had a firecraker go off in the hole!

I've shot a lot of ground squirrels sitting in the openings of their holes. A ranch owner I know has a really serious plague of them and prefers shooting to poisoning. Of course, what really made a big difference was my suggestion to install some hawk perches and owl boxes. Those owls pounded the stuffing out of the squirrel population.

The squirrel holes on this particular ranch looked a bit smaller but your idea is as good as mine.
