What lock for you?

The Axis lock is my favorite (although Cbxer55 makes a fair point) followed by the compression lock on the PM2.

I do not like frame locks. Just an aesthetic thing, I don't like how it breaks up the looks on that side of the knife.

What say you? Okay, Bill O'Reilly, I guess we're in pretty good agreement. I LOVE a good compression lock, and a free-swinging PM2 is the nuts. I also have a SuperLeaf with that lock, now discontinued by Spyderco, but it doesn't have quite the same ergonomics for the release, and it's not as free-swinging. Of course, the Superleaf is NIB and I haven't tried to adjust the pivot, as I don't mess with NIB knives that may go right out again. It has a VG-10 blade of 0.157" and I enjoy the "leaf" blade design in general, so I do like it.
Then frame-locks followed by liner locks. I don't buy axis locks or back-locks. Can't really handle either one effectively.
And, yes, I do like fixed blades for general design, although I have no practical use....okay, PRACTICAL? Wrong conversation.

The Axis lock is great. I just do not like edcing any knife that has a lock where parts can fail. The Axis lock has proven that the springs can fail. And BM will not sell you replacement springs. You have to f--kin send the knife to them to be repaired.

F--k that!
I've had a Mini Griptilian for over two years and a Mini Onslaught for almost a year and neither one has ever had a problem.

Axis lock has been the easiest for me to use to this day, looking forward to trying the highly praised compression lock soon though.

I only own frame locks and liner locks at the moment. Quality liner locks like the military or Gayle Bradley are great. I think my favorite is the compression lock, more knives need it! I do like the axis lock. It's just too bad that I can't find a Benchmade that I like enough to buy. They are either too big or small or too tactical or too "plasticky" as is the case with the griptillian. If the grip came with proper g10 scales and full liners I would buy a large one for sure.

Axis, frame, or liner/inset liner. I like axis the best, but like knives with frame/liner just as much.

Frame locks are quickly becoming my favorite, just due to their simplicity and their elegance. And in close second place is a tie between the compression lock and the axis lock.
