What longed for knives did you acquire in the last year or so?

When I was 15 (30 years ago), I bought a Western W49 Bowie knife for $55 that I eventually destroyed the handle on by throwing att trees (I still have the blade), and I've always wanted another. Well, I picked one up on ebay last year for $79 in excellent condition. I LOVE that knife! I only wish it had a lanyard.

Expecting my email from Kirby lambert any day now. Ikbs Orion. Black g10 with lightning strike bolsters. Can't wait.

For me, it would have to be the Spyderco Superhawk. Been searching around, so mad when I learned it was discontinued, not been on the higher end buying scene too long, so sadly I missed it the first time around.

A folder and a fixed in a lower end premium steel. Solved both by getting a Delica 4 and a Ka-Bar Peter Janda fixed blade, both on the same week. I never thought VG-10 and D2 could get that sharp.

I finally got hold of a Don Llewellyn custom 6-inch Fighter.

No longer in production.

Couple of others as well, but I'll wait until I have pix of those.

I was on the original list to get a Lion Steel SR-1, but when the time came, the money didn't.:( Boy was I sick when I started seeing the pics of the finished product. Thought that was it and that I had missed out. Then I saw where some custom sellers, and others were selling these and that Lion Steel was making them as a regular line of knives. But whenever there was one for sale, I didn't have the money handy, and when I had the money, there were no knives for sale. Story of my life it seems!

But then the fog cleared, the clouds were ringed in silver, and the planets were aligned in the House of Aquarius. I had the money........they had the knife. What more is there to say!!:)

This has been the year of the machete for me. I can't say I lusted after them. But I settled on several Condor machetes that I like a lot (Golok and Parang). These were purchased to use when I am out and about in the woods or on the job.

It has also been a slip joint year as I am slowly moving back to more traditional knives as first choices. I have to say that I admire a well made slip joint.

The only knife that I can actually say I lusted over for a year or so was the Fallkniven F1 with the white micrata handle. The price sort of kept me from buying one and I ddin't want the rubber handle. I finally bought one a couple of months ago. I have other similar knives, but this one does it for me... this year. :)

I was just going to post about the same knife! I've wanted a W49 for a long while now, since I missed getting one when Camillus was still in business (d'oh!). Picked up one on "fleabay" a few months ago, and love it. Great bowie. Gotta get a new sheath made for it, though... The one I bought came with a sheath that the seller had made, and while it almost fits the knife properly, it is completely uncomfortable to wear.
Going to have to replace the handle slabs, too, because he did a p*ss-poor job of it, but that's ok. I'm looking forward to really making this knife mine, and these projects will undoubtedly do just that. :)

I've been longing to get a Laconico framelock ever since he first posted one.I didn't think it would happen considering his ever growing waiting list.
Well it turned out good for me when he said this one was available. It's sitting in my pocket right now.:)
