What lube do you use on your folders?

cpirtle! Of course I don't mind

I love the fact that it works so well with the white grease from them as well as how it dries to leave a nice thin film of Teflon. It is great for folders that need more lube than a thin oil or Tuf Glide can give, i.e. the Sebi or any other tight tolerence knife. I love Militech-1, but while it works brilliantly when heated, otherwise it is still a very thin oil, even if it is probably the best one. I use it mostly on my LCC D/A or any other blade that for one reason or another, I can't take appart. However the spray can of Dry Teflon works a treat. Let me know if you want me to send you a couple of cans. It has a trigger and is very easy to exactly get the amount you want in the exact place you want! Great stuff. The other thing is how well it works as a flush, to clean a knife out (after using hot water)

I'm going to the LBS (local bike shop) tonight or tomorrow to see if I can get it in a can. Maybe I've just never looked close enough, if not I may take you up on the offer. Thanks!

Several of you guys have said that Militec-1 is a very thin light oil. I just got several bottles and mine is fairly stiff. A drop will stand up on a blade and doesn't want to pull into tight tolerances. I had even considered thinning it because I don't think it flows into the nooks and crannies as well as it could.

Is there something wrong with my batch??

Any ideas on what a guy might use to thin Militec out a hair that will evaporate away leaving a whisper thin coat behind?

I think maybe I'll try the bike grease too. With all the knives, guns, fishing reels, rollerblades etc laying around here I'm sure it will get used.

Another thing I use on some knives is a good brand of auto wax. Buff it on, let it cloud, buff it off. It leaves a thin protective coating that doesn't attract debris

I'm using a similar product from finish line. It's called Krytech. It's for bicicles as well. It's based on Krytox and paraffin wax.
As I've been only using it for a couple of days now, I can't really say how much it's worth. I can only say that I don't like the smell. How about the smell of other products? Could somebody do a comparison.

I've asked about Krytech

but nobody else seems to be using it.

I use a oil that is produced for northfield chucks. It works very well and repells lint and dirt very well. If anyone is interested i can get the ingredients.
