8lb-er on a 4X4 white buzzbait. 7.5lber on a green tube with 1/4oz jig. Both were caught on a st. croix tidemaster with a abu garcia C4 6600 spooled with 50lb test braid. I'm hoping to do some alligator gar chasing this spring/summer with even heavier gear but we'll see.
My biddest largemouth bass in Minnesota has been 6 lbs caught on a Johnson spoon with some dressing.....And on a Woodchopper I got a 22 lb Peacock bass in Brazil....
No kidding. The pond where I caught it always got the left overs tossed into it after dinner. I'd catch 4-5lb fish all day long on hot dogs, chicken livers, and nightcrawlers, just like you'd use for catfish. On the bottom and on floats.
Caught my biggest bluegill at 1lb and channel cat at 20lbs out of the same pond. Both on chicken liver fished on the bottom.
9.35 lb largemouth bass. caught it on a 1/2oz blue gill colored spinner bait with one tiny colorado gold blade and the top gold blade was a willow. big fish killer
Funny as it sounds I caught a 8.5# largemouth with a chartreuse helicopter lure. It first hit a berkley worm but wouldn't hit again so what the heck I threw it and wham she hit.
Black Jitterbug about 3" long at around 2:00AM in the morning. Bass was maybe 4 or 5 pounds. In a medium sized pond. Never saw a fish even half that size come out of that pond in the daylight.
caught me an 8 1/2 lber on a clear Heddon super spook Jr. right before dusk on the edge of a bed of lilly pads. ..can remember it like yesterday, he smashed that lure.
